Congrats! I like them, especially the color, but I wish the spokes were more sunken in towards the back of the wheel and a little more concave.

Ditto on the spoke comment. The pics on the web all look like there's more concavity, so that's a little disappointment. They're not much different than MB Weapons or XXR 522's, but the spokes on those seem to reach too far past the lip before coming back in to the barrel.

I was hoping they were a little lighter in color than they are as it's a little too monochrome/color-matched for me. I'm debating on painting them silver sooner so I'd have less cleanup, or just wait until they're scuffed a little and need a good refinishing. I'm not ecstatic, but for the price of admission, I'm satisfied with another step removed from stock.

Yeah that's the problem when you order wheels from the internet, they always put up a picture of a wheel that has a different offset or something. BUT live and learn. It sounds like you got a good deal on the package and that you're overall happy with the purchase. Even though I like the color of the wheels now, having them painted silver would be awesome. It would give better contrast between the wheels and the car.

Thank you for not complaining about receiving a negative comment. So many people here bitch and moan when someone doesn't like something on their car. As long as you're happy that's all that matters!

I like these wheels. They'll look even better once you get them re-finished.

And you need to drop it ASAP!

The spoke design is not as I pictured. If you Google "Motegi MR 125", every image looks like the spokes tuck into the barrel more, and aren't so thick. Plus they suggest more concavity than in person. Still, they're growing on me and I think a silver makeover will really make an impact.

We'll see about dropping it. I'm really against it because the roads in PA really suck, but seeing some of the rides here, even a little one makes a subtle but style-y difference. This was my splurge for a while and I plan on keeping the TL for a long time, so when the mod itch comes back on full force, I'll entertain the drop idea.

Memorial Day Weekend updates

35% tint on the sides & back last Thursday and finally finished my DIY color-change on the wheels. It's funny, if I tinted the car sooner, I might have kept the matte titanium gray wheel-color for an overall "smoked-out" theme (not dark enough to be "blacked-out"). But, I had already stripped the clearcoat off the wheels and given them a good scuffing. I followed the advise of several DIY-threads on here and spent a lot of time with the prep: sand/scuff, two coats of primer, three paint (Rustoleum silver wheel paint), and three clear. While painting is easy, I effed up a couple times trying to get them perfect, so if there's any advice I can add to those DIY's, it's to be patient. If it says you can't dry sand it for four hours, don't. If the light coat didn't cover, don't hit it again and risk laying down too much and have it start to drip. Be patient! Not like a-hole me that on three occasions, took three steps back to take one step forward because I just couldn't be patient or just couldn't let a tiny little imperfection go. I'm glad as hell to be done and while I'm not hella-thrilled with the wheels, I still like them plenty and hey, they're not stock, like the dozen to two dozen TL's I see on my daily commute. So, here are the update-pics:

Next up is to finish do the cross-bar delete on the bumper and install my a-spec lip that has been waiting patiently for installation for the past six months.

Those wheels look nice on your car, especially after you repainted them.

Hey Chessie724 I got these same wheels and tried to put them on today but the stock lug nuts won't fit, what did you use?

You shouldn't use stock lug nuts on aftermarket wheels. Stock lugs are ball-seat and only meant for stock wheels. Aftermarket lugs are conical/acorn seat and are meant for aftermarket wheels. Check ebay, Amazon, XLR8, HeelToe, etc....

Ok thanks. I bought a set off ebay and they are still too huge, I need smaller diameter lugs, are the acorn ones standard small diameter? I see some on amazon....

I bought the set from ebay suggested here https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/lug-nut-question-879317/ but they are too big, would the set from amazon work?
