Just Bought a 2007 TL-S

This is my first Acura and I had been looking for about a month now for a TL type S. This wasn't my first color combo choice but luckily the negotiation with the dealership went my way. Every where I looked, the prices on these were 21 and up. I ended up negotiating the car from 21900 to 18k. It was a 1 owner car, all maintenance/oil changes have been done at the Acura dealership, no damage/scratches on the car and only 56k miles - so it was very hard to say no to this car. Here are a couple of pics, hope to get some better ones soon. I also have some questions on this car...

Yes, I think I had some good leverage on the deal. The two deals they had been working on fell flat and I was pretty assertive in my 'haggling' skills

This car is great on gas mileage compared to what I'm used to...11 for my truck and 20 (if I'm lucky) on my stang.

My plans for this car aren't much, I def want to buy some coilovers by next week or the following. I'm still undecided on what brand. I want my car as low as possible so I need to do a lot more research on the toe/caster, fender rolling, and spacer issues. I also want to get a full A-Spec kit, I just need to find a web site to purchase it from. And eventually, maybe some rims. I have yet to find a pic where I say 'I NEED THOSE,' well with the exception of the CCW's. I just don't like the way there's so much negative camber on the rear of the TL/CCW pics that I find.

Any suggestions/ideas are welcomed

spend enough time on this forum and you'll learn a lot very quickly.

coils, xlr8 isc's are a good choice...bunch of my buddies have them and love them.

wheels, the world is your oyster. all i know is as soon as i saw a set of forgestar f14's i had to have them.

as far as the neg camber/wide wheels craze....that is just the look that a lot of us strive for. here is a pic of mine, hope you don't mind a picture drop in your thread.

Congrats on the car.

I too am in the same market and that makes me feel good regarding mileage/owner/pricing.

What part of the country are you in? And how was the car located? AutoTrader? Cars.com? Craiglist? Other?

FYI all ASM A-spec lip kit is out of stock and you can't get them anywhere else, according to Steven Bell he got the last set in the country.

Man those rims are sick! Where can I see more pics of your car or can you post some more? How many inches is that drop, give me some info on your setup.

I live in San Antonio TX, there were several TL's that I saw and test drove but the price ranges were all over the place. I was so close to buying a wdp black interior 08 TL-S with the A-spec kit on it (guy wanted 22k). But when I saw the carfax it had 3 previous owners 68k miles and a really weird humming sound coming from the engine. On top of that it had a 'check emissions' light on with I believe a b1 or b12 code, also the paint was chipped on the front bumper and the hood gaps were different. Too many red flags but that was the color combo I was looking for.

It'll suck if the asm a-spec kits are out, if anyone knows where I get an already painted asm hit me up - I can buy ASAP if necessary

only OEM kits come painted. and as you have found out ASM is now discontinued. options: find it used. or buy a kit of a different color and have it painted ASM. our resident vendor Acktl05 has an ongoing group buy thread on here.

your coilovers....excelerate performance and heeltoe auto have many of the popular set ups found on this site. there is also a thread comparing the various coilovers available.

other goodies...search and you shall find...your bank account draining.

welcome to the money pit.

WDP? Oh hai...

ISC N1 Coilovers, Skunk2/Ingalls camber kits and rolled fenders make a good combo.

If you can't find any real ASM A-spec kits, I believe you can find knockoff OEM kits on ebay and other sites. They don't come painted though, and the fitment is usually a little "different" than OEM. Definitely check with Bruce (AckTL05) first.

Will do, I don't know if I want to get coil-overs first or A-spec... But when I get the coil-overs I want to be as low as possible, tired of driving so 'high' all the time ....

I'm looking at a 2007 TL-S with 37k miles for close to $24,000. Is a 6 year old car worth that much money? I have an '08 base TL that I LOVE, but I'm drooling over a TL-S.

Edmunds & KBB list the value around what the dealer is asking, and the car is in nearly perfect condition, but that's a lot of $$ to spend on a 5 - 6 year old car!

I think they're worth it, no one was willing to negotiate on their price tho. Just take your time and you will find someone whose willing to sell you the car your looking for at a great price

Picked up the TL to replace my Cobra... might get rid of Megatron too, the diesel a month on it is a car payment on its own

There's a meet this weekend in Austin. Not sure what city you're in but there's a caravan leaving every city except el paso.
