imthestiG's slow progress..
never done one before, so i decided i should try a progress thread..
before the TL i had a 2004 G35..

so on thanksgiving, an idiot driver decided to swerve offroad through my yard and smash into my G35..
![](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/mdaniel1210/20111128_150401.jpg)
thus bringing me to my new 06 AM 6MT TL with 52k miles.
![](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/mdaniel1210/20111212_095403.jpg)
long story short, i love the car and already got stuff going and planned out! 1st step, Type-S wheels..
![](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/mdaniel1210/20120116_162206.jpg)
Next step is waiting in the garage in the form of new suspension, Tein s techs on tokico shocks. and a CAI. so install and pics to come for that this weekend. upcoming on the list will be rear de-badging, type-s tail lights, type-s rear lip style spoiler, and possibly full aspec lip kit.

Happy Holidays!
"long story short, i love the car and already got stuff going and planned out! 1st step, Type-S wheels.."
Why wasn't the 1st step a Type-S instead?

trust me i tried.. but the cost difference was to much. im happy with adding afew things to my low mileage base TL then spending alot more to get a higher mileage type-s.

yep, imo MT base and S barely negligible enough to want to get out of your budget or considerations when buying
welcome to azine AM owner =)
how you like the transition between the two cars?

thanks silver surfer, and good look to your 49ers.. my co worker is actually ahmad brooks' brother so he is forcing us to be 9er fans right now lol..
dc.. it has def been a bit of a transition for me. my past few cars have been the g35, turbo rx7, and supercharged mr2. so the big adjustment has been with how the car reacts with the fwd. however i am impressed with how fun the car is and how well it handles for a fwd sedan. can't wait to get it to a track day or autocross i can push it and find out how it really does in comparison.

For sure.. nothing like testing what your car is capable of.
Side note, I'll be rocking the river walk in San Antonio this August..

Crazy how someone drove though your yard and hit the G. That's terrible.
If I were you, skip the intake and put that money towards a j-pipe. It's a little more expensive but it's the best bang for your buck when it comes to hp/tq gains.
Oh and there's a meet in VA coming up on the 28th. Here's a link:

I've been the last 2 or 3 years and it's a blast! Very cold but well worth it. We had almost 50 cars last year. Sadly I won't be attending this year but it would be a great chance for you to meet other members and get some ideas for your car!

Mark, I like the car....
....I like the list of upcoming mods.
Tyler has a good idea about skipping the CAI and going for the J-pipe.

got a couple more things taken care of this weekend.. had the trans fluid swapped out for some of that gm synchromesh i read about while researching my 3rd gear pop out..

i must say this stuff is awesome! i havent had a single 3rd gear issue since, and the rest of my shifts feel a lot better too.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
also had a CAI installed as well. i just picked up one of the cheap kits off ebay since they all look the same anyways.

i must admit, on the brand name CAI's you are paying for an easier install. the ebay kit comes with some weird make shift mount for inside the fender that makes no sense. i ended up just having something fabbed up.
anyways, next up this weekend is installing the suspension. got the tein s-techs mounted on some tokico blues.
