I have no experience with snow here in California. What happens when it snows so much like that? You stay home and cant go to work or school? Cant imagine waking up and moving all that snow out of the driveway in the cold hours of the morning.

lol...schools often get cancelled on the lower level (pre-college) due to not being able to safely get around to pick kids up....work goes on an usual for the rest of us. We just have to get up and deal with one of these things....

(The snow thrower)

Then we proceed as usual...about an hour or so behind normal.

Some past year views from the window and driveway...

YOu must cut sidewalks out...lol...sometimes they end up to be DEEP tunnel type things....this is the sidewalk cut out....next pic after that is from the front side in comparison to a car.

Front side of that pile...

I'm California dreaming until I make the move out in about 2 years. It just started snowing in NYC, they say about 2 - 4inches, hopefully we only get 2in.

I was in NC for Thanksgiving. About a 6 hour drive to Fayetteville from Jacksonville. So, not too far. Come on down

got 20cm (9in) today here in Toronto. i didn't see a single plow until about 5pm. They're calling for a blowstorm tomorrow and MORE snow sunday.

But hey, I've got no driveway, car's in an underground garage, there's a huge hill behind my place, and a new toboggan i've been dying to use you guys are too negative when it comes to snow. Have fun.

Yo Acurastyle, where are you moving to in NC? There are a lot of us here in the Charlotte area that get together from time to time. I am also a transplant from the northeast so I know what it's like.

BTW- it has been 72 degrees here for the past two days. Just washed both cars with shorts on. Sorry, I had to rub it in a little.

We're too old, sorry. Most of us work full-time. It's hard to enjoy snow when you dont want to get sick; missing a day at work is less money in the wallet. You'll learn soon enough.

Huntersville is a nice area. Get us to the major traffic jams you will be in up there. Also look into the Ballyntine area. Nice place and there is plenty to do. I moved from LI NY and nver looked back. LI is a great place to visit once a year.

I am right there with ya, MI has had some huge dumps. I am actually looking for a home in and around Livonia and got a chance to experience the stellar lack of snow plows in that area this weekend. Hey, and if you know any nice homes for sale please feel free to pass them along my way
