Sorry about the accident but it doesn't look too bad at all! I don't know what your deductible is but you may not have to go through insurance if this is a small repair. You can have them paint that fender/bumper and just blend in. No other bodywork and your headlight is fine. The bumper should clip right back in! Just make sure just in case there is no damage behind the bumper. I don't know how hard the impact was but if you hit a van the impact might be heavy and that bumper can flex quite a bit hiding damage underneath. You can easily take the bumper off yourself if you want to check.

Be warned that that color is not easy to match and you need to make sure the bodyshop does it's best to match and blend.

blend it in means to paint partway down the sides of the car and hood to make the front end blend in- otherwise there would be a drastic color differance at a body joint, so you keep painting past there and it looks like part of the ever changing paint color

100 percent covered is one thing, what is your deductible? Zero dollars, 250 500??

Well...how did the job interview go?

I would've at least followed the van to get his plates...then head off to the interview. I'm sure they would've understood. Just show them the bumper.

I had just my bumper painted and you can't see any difference from the hood/fenders.

Wait.. so the van guy ran away after hitting you on the street??

I'm pretty sure that if you get a police report of "hit-and-run", your insurance company covers the whole repair cost without charging you the deductible. It happened to me last year. My insurance (Allstate) took care of everthing and didn't raise my monthly payment at all.
