You can buy it at most home improvement stores either in a container to "dip" tools in or as a spray. It gives a rubberized coating and it adheres to almost anything, contour lines are a non issue. It is typically used for tools to give better grips but this is a good application for it too!

Exactly. I picked up two cans from home depot. Think they are $5 a can so not bad at all. I used about 4 coats. The main reason people use this is because it's very easy to peel off of the paint if you've used enough coats, check out the YouTube vid below

Thinking about doing the middle bar of the grill black.
What's the best "black" vinyl?
What black vinyl are you guys using?

Mine right now.
My winter project is to do the cross bar in a CF-look or just gloss black and put mesh behind. I'm satisfied with the current look...just not lovin' it enough to keep it that way.

Do you know what kind of black vinyl is made my 3M?
I mean, is there semi-gloss black, glossy black, flat black, etc.
Might consider 3M Carbon fiber vinyl like cjTL's, too.
I don't think I like gloss, so it's a choice between flat black like your grill), or carbon fiber (like cjTL's).

The mesh can be purchased from Custom Car Grills (link). I purchased the "12x48 Hexagon Grill Mesh Powercoat Black" (*not* the XXL size) from CustomCarGrills. I had no problems with ordering and delivery was quick.
Here are some related links explaining the How-To procedure.

Hopefully the company is generous with the bonuses this year and I'll have some new shoes to boot...

To keep this on topic, I just painted the "V-trim" below the grill with plastidip. I had previously painted the cross-bar.

The bottom piece and the bar and the 'inner' piece you have to get behind the bumper to get access. So the bumper has to be off.
As far as paint, I'm getting mine body matched again at the paint shop for $60 when they redo my front bumper. It got chipped up very fast. Anyone consider clear bra'in the grille? Lol
Also, I'd say the plasti-dip stuff looks great. Better then the di-noc job I did. Bet it doesn't chip away at all either and is probably really easy to put on.

The top piece on the hood comes off rather easily. I would def take it off to do any painting.

I think that looks dope, but I'd be too worried about the paint. I used plastidip and first of all it stands up to road debris very well, and secondly if it does chip I can repaint it myself. I would be scared of an expensive paintjob getting messed up if I had it professionally matched.
