Game Over!!!
I'm not trying to sound too conceited or anything with that title, but hey I had to draw some attention!
I've just completed Phase 1 of my front end modification project:
I'm calling this Phase 1, because as a couple of you know who I've PM'ed on the subject, there is more to come. I'm going to keep it a secret as best I can, but if you've read some of my other posts, you could probably deduce which other modifications are forthcoming.
Any suggestions or tips are welcomed, and I'm open to anything, although I do already have a game plan. It'll be interesting to see who suggests things for me to do that I'm already planning on doing.

i kind of like it the more I look at. It makes it look subtly different from the 800,000 other WDP gen 3 TL. I'm trying to come up with some ideas to make my 06 WDP TL unique. I want to do things other than wheels and body kit. keep doing what you are doing as long as you like it.

Oh yeah, lose the cup! (j/k)

Forgot to say before that I think it takes guts to be different when modding. Keep up the good work!
i dig it. i see at least three tl's a day on my commute to work and they are all the same. it really is refreshing to see one with a little balls every once and a while. i cant wait to see the finished product

Thanks for your comments, guys! (even you, lembowski..he he he!)
It's interesting to me how varying the opinions are on this modification. One person says it's a nice subtle change, and yet another says it draws too much attention to the area. Such is human nature.
Anyway, I appreciate the comments. This is only a small part of what I'm getting done, so when I get it finished completely, I have a feeling that some opinions will change... For better AND for worse, I'm sure!

He whited also out the emblems and moldings, too, which was not a good choice in my opinion. I will not be doing that. The front has to have something shiny on it.
Just an FYI (not directed at you, JJaber06) - I'm trying to take the aggressiveness out of the car and make it more "luxurious" - if you will.

you know my suggestion.....
Do the fog light install.
Also if you are whiting out the grill as you did on the top, you might as well do the lower grills. (nice thing about the lower grills is that if it really looks bad you are only out $18 each to replace them.

It was good, though, because it was reassuring to know that what I wanted to do was going to look good (in my opinion, of course).

To be honest with you, it does not work at all. I know that you may have seen the car that is being referred to in this example and if you like it, hey, go for it. It is your car. If you like it, that is all that matters..... but if it is that car, there will be a lot of dissapointed people.

I would agree with you that one guy's car didn't come out so well. A huge part of that was because he whited out ALL the molding that was once brushed aluminum AND the Acura logo itself (if I'm remembering correctly), which are both big no-nos in my book. As you said, that is very reminiscent of the cheapo body shop paint jobs that wouldn't take the time to properly paint a car after it had been wrecked -- "heck, Cleetus, just paint the whole dang thing!" I will not be doing that. There is no contrast or shine to his front end, which obviously works for him but does not for me (or you apparently). The front of my car will be better looking than that IMO, but it will have some similarities -- no doubt about that.
Also some things to consider are the others who've done this, but on their black TLs...but I can see your opposition to it if you're a hardcore WDP-er! :-) I also have all the original parts, so it's 100% reversible, except for the bumper portion that was painted. You'll also notice on the Ron Jon kits that part of the bumper is painted body color, which is part of what I have done.
Part of my inspiration to do this was the Toyota Avalon, among a few other cars that have body-colored grill: http://www.autoplususa.com/images/Ph...TTP12105-1.jpg (sorry, kind of a crappy photo). I kind of feel weird saying that an inspiration for a modification to my Acura came from a Toyota, but hey, it is what it is. I've also seen it on a Chrysler 300, but I can't find any pictures of that online at the moment.
