Finally...puddle lights!!

ok so I bought these lights almost 3 months ago and they sat around waiting for a nice weekend to get put on. Well I never saw a nice weekend and it got cold here in CT quick! I ended up having my mechanic buddy put them on since he has a heated garage and lift. The lift didn't prove to be too useful since the arms covered 2 of the spots where the lights needed to go.
I had them wired to the dome lights so they go off/on when the car is locked/unlocked. I know a lot of people do 5 lights on each side but I did 4, I wanted to be different. They are supposed to be blue but they ended up looking a little more purple which is fine with me.
Please excuse the crappy cell phone pics, I know they are real bad but my camera is broken!

Thanks! I got them from e bay search vip puddle lights and you will find some. FYI I would not purchase these again. The wires were not long enough, they needed to be spliced, they were poorly made and flimbsy. It took over 4 hours just to fix up these lights. If I had to do this again I would spend the extra $ to get some better ones. Unfourtunately I could not tell the quality until I got them

COPYCAT!.....jkidding!! Good job Carrie! First time I am seeing them in blue on a 3GTL....may be a first here on AZine. BTW blue is fine it is not illegal. They are courtesy lights and turn on only when the door opens.....unless you drive with your doors open once in awhile when you are driving. Then you'll get more than 1 ticket to worry about.

No wonder it took 4hrs...Recessed, that's the way to do it! It took me 6 hrs.....and mine aren't even recessedHAHA! I guess I always take longer with my mods, I am too much of a perfectionist!

I thought I would do this in a reversible way if needed, that's why I didn't do them recessed......Now I am thinking, screw it! I love this mod so much it is worth sacrificing a pair of side skirts for it! I'll do the recessed style with some high end custom made LED units in the summer! So I will copycat you now!

rocky - it took over 4 hrs just to make the lights that i bought up to my standards. They were pretty crappy, it took prob another 4 hrs to measure, drill and install all the lights. Oh and did I mention it took forever to find the wire for the dome lighting
PLEASE take my advise, anyone who wants to try this buy good quality, sturdy lights, make sure your wires are long enough and measure twice, drill once!
