Cool. What brand are they? All my LEDs are from v-leds.com, but they have 2 different switchback bulbs, one larger than the other. I'm curious if I'll have fitment issues with the larger, brighter one...

Shit dude, sorry for the late reply.

I honestly couldn't tell you what brand they are. I THINK they are from v-leds but don't quote me on that.

I thought about getting the 60-LED switchbacks but I didn't want them to draw attention away from the HID bulbs. I wanted the switchbacks to "accent" the HIDs if you know what I mean.

As of today I'm sitting at 1156xx miles. Today was my last day of work so I won't be driving as much as usual BUT I am driving down to Florida in less than two weeks to visit family. I'll be putting around 2000 miles on the car within that week.

Thanks. I actually ended up ordering the VLEDS Platinum model amber led bulb. Should be super bright. I really really wanted to go with the switchback, but I didn't for a couple reasons. First, I wanted the version 1 style that blinks amber-off-amber-off, but they VLEDS only carries the version 2 in their highest-lumens model. Only their dimmer model switchback is available in the version 1 style. Second, my sidemarkers are stock, so I didn't want to add another color led to the side profile of my TL. I think white, amber and then red would look goofy.

Have a safe trip...I took a trip to AL. to visit my grandparents, left there and went to FL. on the rest of my 2 week vacation, then headed back home. Worked for five days, then headed to VA to spend some time at lake gaston with my family. About 2800 miles total from those trips.

Enjoyed it, but we needed more room having a 2 year old son. SO... I bought my wife an SUV and modded the TL

Thank you sir! I've been to Lake Gaston a few times, it's absolutely gorgeous.

The drive down to Florida isn't the bad part, it's all of the driving within the state that is going to rack up the milage. I haven't seen some of my family members in 4+ years so it will be worth it.

Btw where in NC are you located? Triangle area?

Wow that's a real good drive you have planned.

That just reminds me of when I went to Miami/Orlando. I was so confused with the toll booths. Didn't have any money for the booths.

The tolls are all part of the Florida experience! You can't miss out on those!

Yeah you've gotta make sure you have change for the booths. I hate stopping for them but I love taking off after I drop the change in there. I always nail the gas and listen to the exhaust

Thanks Morgan!

Actually yesterday was my last day of work. I'm attending a new school about an hour south starting in January. I've never put school as a priority and therefore the whole college thing is taking longer than expected.

Because of having no income, the modding will have to stop. I'm sure I'll be doing little things here and there but nothing crazy. I still need to put on my silver RV6 strut bar and I will be painting my rear calipers black. Besides that, the TL is done for the time being. If I somehow find a money tree, coils and wheels will be on the car, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

No you don't...now I ALWAYS have a choice...choices are bad...choices cause stress.

Plus, I rarely ever take my works off...I've gotten very used to the ride and the look. I miss them as soon as I take them off.

You'll see in person next week...

I hope a thread is created soon about the Great Falls Meet. I need to make sure I can make it

Anyways, I'm heading to Florida tomorrow morning so I washed the car yesterday in preparation.

My new stance:

Sadly that's not the case I pulled into my driveway at a weird angle and the rear wheel tucked nicely into the arch. Check out the 4x4 stance up front and the slammed stance in the rear

So yeah, the car is nice and clean. Haven't been able to say that in over a month

Finally added the RV6 Front Strut Bar...

That's it for now! I'll be posting pictures and such from my Florida trip when I get back in 8 or 9 days. I'll be enjoying the warm weather

Yeah the bar isn't a "OMFG SO SICK!!!!!!" mod, but it's worth mentioning

Honestly I want the car that low. I won't be driving ANYWHERE NEAR as much as I used to since I'm going to school next semester. We will see how everything pans out.

Florida Trip 12/10-12/18

Yep, the girlfriend and I went down to Florida for 8 days and got away from the cold weather. I was born and raised in Orlando and ALL of my family minus my parents and I live in Florida. They are all scattered around the state so the TL got quite a workout.

Saturday the 10th is when we made the drive down. I couldn't sleep at all the night before so we were on the road at 2:00am

For those of you who don't know, South of the Border is a shitty ass place on the border of North and South Carolina. It used to be awesome but now it's a dump. Here's a terrible picture I took around 3 or 3:30am when we were driving past:

Shitty picture, I know. It was early, gf was sleeping, and I was trying to do everything in my power to stay awake.

We stopped somewhere in GA and got gas. From GA to Cocoa, FL my MID showed...

So we were in Cocoa for a day and then I drove ~3 hours south to Miramar. I met up with Rockstar143. The weather wasn't cooperating so we didn't take too many pictures...

Then Nexson showed up in his sexy 4G (yes I really did just say that). If you haven't already, go find his thread in the 4G section. The custom grill is SICK.

We had lunch at Chili's and went on our separate ways. It was nice meeting you fellas!

So after staying a day in Miramar, we drove ~1.5 hours west to good ol' Everglades City. Don't know where that is? Not many people do. It's a really small town that has two gas stations, two motels, a few restaurants, and a fire station. It's mostly known for fishing, especially crab fishing (OMG JUSTNSPACE) since it's right on the Gulf of Mexico. My grand parents live there so that's why we made the drive.

Here's what most of the homes look like down there. I had to edit them quite a bit because they were underexposed (damn iPhone). Excuse the quality. But yeah...

Yep, that's ALL in the front yard

Anyways, we were just in EC for the day and drove back to Miramar for the night. The next day we were back in Cocoa and decided to check out the Kennedy Space Center which is closer to Titusville.

The following pictures were taken in the "Rocket Garden" at the KSC. They were filming a tv show when we got there so we didn't have enough time to see/take pictures of everything

Imagine being in this thing...

So we got bored and decided to take a bus tour of the area. They recently opened the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) for tours. For you idiots, that's where the rockets and shuttles are assembled and maintained. Due to radiation levels, they didn't let the public in for over 30 years. Those radiation levels have reached a safe level and since the shuttle program is now kaput, people can go in and walk around. The VAB...

As soon as I walked inside, I looked up and saw this...

It's the 5th largest building by volume in the world. This is only the middle section of the building. There are two identical sections on either side. It's so tall that clouds have been known to form in the top.

Moar of the VAB...

Cranes used to move the shuttle around...

Security was pretty strict, we had to stay behind a yellow line the whole time, but there was plenty of room. We walked around the corner and saw this thing sitting there infront of us

Yep shuttle Endeavor.

Now you might be wondering why the windows are taped up. Also, if you've been paying attention, I haven't described what the hell this thing is...

Well, I was a good little boy and payed attention during the tour. This particular shuttle is going to be shipped to a museum in CA. When the shuttle is transported, it's put on the back of a large airplane like so...

That thing on the ground is the back piece shown above ^^ that goes on the back of the shuttle. It increases aerodynamics and also protects the engines from damage.

Outside of the VAB...

Pictures don't do the VAB justice. See the door on the part of the building facing you? At the very bottom? Yeah, that's where the bus pulled up to....

The gray sliding doors on the left side of the building slide to the top of the building so the rockets/shuttles could slide horizontally out. EACH of those gray doors weigh 16 tons each and it takes an hour for all of them to reach the top of the building.

This thing is known as "The Crawler". The rocket/shuttle is mounted to this and it transports the vehicle to the launch pad. It's top speed? 1 mph.

This is the primary launch pad used by NASA for the shuttle...

These next two pictures really show how the shuttle is held in the structure...

Once the shuttle is loaded in, that whole wing area swings into the opposing tower so the shuttle is in the middle of the structure.

Where the flames come out ...

The whole "cape" area is pretty much right on the ocean...

Launch pad on the left, VAB on the right...

Secondary launch pad...

"The Crawler" goes down this pebble road towards the launch pads...

The whole area owned by NASA is actually a wildlife preservation area as well. Sounds pretty dumb but there are A LOT of animals in the area...

So after checking all of that out, we went to the Saturn V center where there is a REAL USED Saturn V (that's a 5 in Roman Numerals for you incompetent bastards) on display.

Look at how intricate the door is...

The original "Astro Van". Curse you Chevrolet for using that awesome name on such a shitty van in the 80s and 90s.

Now this is fucking cool. This is the ORIGINAL pod from Apollo 11, when man first landed on the moon. Of course originally it was white but the heat from reorbit scorched it...

Some other cool authentic stuff in the "Vault" area...

One last shot of the VAB. This picture really shows off the huge doors well...

I'm going to post this before I click a button and erase it all

Alright, so the same day we were at NASA, we met up with my aunt's friend who owns a few airboats. This particular one had a 540ci V8 with a supercharger attached to it

So we went out on the water for a while and it was a blast. If you've never been on an airboat, you need to do it.

We saw a lot of wild animals out there. Horses, cows, pigs, etc.

This guy wasn't happy that we stopped and were looking at him...

Moar...

Da boat...

We stayed out on the water for almost 3 hours. Awesome sunset...

The next day we went out to Cocoa Beach and enjoyed the weather. 84 degrees to be exact...

The day after that we went to Orlando for the day. If you know me, you know I love Sonny's BBQ. This is the same location that my parents and I used to eat at when we lived there...

And the whip...

So we got fat and then headed over to The Florida Mall. That place was a cluster fuck and people were pissing me off so we left that bitch and went to Downtown Disney. It wasn't quite as busy which made me happy.

JENNY!!!!!!!!!! Best movie evaarrrrr!

Some LEGOs for Eric

We went into one of the stores and my girlfriend is fucking OBSESSED with Phineas and Ferb, this stupid show on Disney Channel. They had hats, shirts, and all sorts of stuff...

So yeah that's the trip. Oh I guess I should post some pictures of the car

I hope you enjoyed

I know I know.

Sometimes I think about how it could have been easily staged BUT I'm not going to question it. I like to think it happened and actually believe the government was telling the truth
