Nice! (on the DWS tires). I hope I helped you make a decision on those tires.

Yeah, 215s. A bit narrow but it won't be anything crazy. Have you seen Tyler's Advans on his CL? He has 215s on a 8.5" wide wheel and the stretch is there but not insane.

Adam clearly doesn't understand how that whole narrow tire things works...losing 20mm of tire width is not going to visually raise the car up an inch and a half. One you're tucking, you have to try hard to have gap with a tire choice.
My only complaint with the DW's, Ty...were that they seemed to wear quickly, but I think the S is a different compound, I'm sure you'll love em.

Thanks J! I've heard great things about the DWSs and figured I would give them a shot. The weather in NC goes from 105 degrees and bone dry in the summer to 15 degrees and snow and ice in the winter, so I needed something that could handle both extremes.
I'm still driving the G for now, the tires should be on the car either Wednesday or Thursday.

Thanks Steven!
A week or two before I replaced my stock amp, I took this video showing how bad the static was. You'll see me fully turn down the amp so nothing is audible, then turn it just to 01 and you can hear the static over the music. It was terrible and audible on every input.

Bird is the Word
The 215/40/18 is 24.9'' and the 235/40/18 is 25.4'' in diameter. I'm positive the "finger" gap between the fender and tire will increase when he switches to the 215's.

When I had my Cobra I switched from a 265/35 to a 275/35/18 and the new tire filled the gap more bc it has a larger diameter.

There will probably be a difference but nothing enough for me to lower the car. I can barely get around as is
Up front I'm exactly 24" and in the rear it's about 24 1/8, yet it looks like the rear is lower sometimes. I just measured it in the garage and it's possible that it's slanted a bit though.
Tires are being mounted on Thursday. I've been having fun driving the G but it's a thirsty bitch. I miss my car

It's been almost a month since I got the coils on and I think I've driven it about 120 miles. Poor thing.
I'll make up for it by taking it to Charlotte on Saturday

@ the pic....
Tyler, replacing the stock amp was a good idea....when you put the volume down to ZERO the amp mute signal (5V) is activated and hence you dont get any white noise when at ZERO but the white noise is there through out from volume 1 to 40....
atleast the noise matches your car color

That's because they are so amazingly clean
That's all Lightroom
Thanks Zach
I've been driving the G35 since my parents freaked out about my cut up tires
I knew you would like the pic
The static was driving me insane. I used to crank it up to 25 or 30 to drown it out or just roll down the windows and listen to mah ATLP instead

Tires are going on tomorrow
I'm really going to miss driving the G35 though. 280hp, 270tq, and AWD all provide a good time

I got the new tires on today! It's so nice to turn the steering wheel and not have the tires hit the fenders and throw rubber everywhere
I think I need another alignment though since I've got some noticeable vibrations at highway speeds, but I just had an alignment a week or two ago. Does having new tires mounted throw off the alignment specs? Do new tires need to be "broken in"?
I've only driven about 25 miles since having them mounted this morning but I like these tires so far! The stretch is a little more aggressive than I thought it would be, but well worth it. I'll post pics tomorrow after I get the car clean for the Charlotte meet on Saturday
