Holy shit-you guys are BRUTAL!
What happened to "respect your elders" ??????................LOL
Alright bishes.....here was my first car. I turned 16 years old in 1973. This belonged to my grandparents. I rescued it from their garage. It had been sitting in there for 5 years-undriven! It's a 1960 Cadillac-the largest production Cadillac ever built, at that time.
It took me about 5 minutes to get the whole damn thing around a corner.

Theres no way in hell that thing could fit in a garage. Aircraft hanger, sure. But not a garage.

^^^ Indeed, that sucker was HUGE!
It was a fun car to drive, but it was like a Sherman Tank! The cool thing was, it was all electronic. This was before they had brights. It had an "electronic eye" on the dash which triggered the high beams.

I am going to try to relive some of my younger years and find a good condition CRX or a 6th gen Civic hatch as a work car. My GF is gonna kill me because I told her I wanted my Crown Vic so bad, and now I want something different.

I the CRX. Theres is a minty fresh Y49 Si that I see from time to time. All original. No aftermarket parts. That thing is spotless.

OK-I'm at 99.9 anyway.
I dated this really attractive girl in high school. She loved that Cadillac. Since everything was electric (windows, etc....), there was a button in the middle of the floorboard that actually moved the radio in a seek and scan mode!
Well, I told this girl that "the car was magic".... and she believed me!! (I know....you're thinking, "she's in high school and she believes it's a magic car????"
Anyway, I could reach this button that makes the radio seek and scan to the next channel by pushing the button on the base of the floorboard with my foot-the button was located almost directly in front of the brake pedal.
I told her to say the "magic words" and the radio would move to the next station! So I made up some stupid magic word, she said it, I pushed the button on the floorboard with my foot (and no, she couldn't tell I pushed the button with my foot), and low and behold-the radio magically moved to the next station!
This freaked her out, with delight! She told everyone in high school that I had a "magic car". After that, my car was known as the Magic Cadillac!

That's hilarious.
Did that button also make her clothes "magically" fall off?

Yes, it was a bitch to park. Like I said, it took about 5 minutes to get the whole damn thing around a corner!
Gasoline with less than a dollar back then! My earliest recollection of gas prices was 19 cents! Can you believe that-it was back in the early '70's.
The very first new car I ever bought was a Datsun 280Z. It was gorgeous-I modified it a lot too. It could take any grade of gas. I always put Premium in the Z. Back then, Premium gas was called "Ethel". I remember saying to my Mom, "when gas hits $1.00 a gallon, I'm going back to regular gas".
