Carbon Fiber Engine Bay - Ver 1.0

Yes I am consider myself as a CF whore. I will have a series of CF that will be done onto my car as times proceeds. But as for now this is what I have so far recently. All the weaving are consistant on one directions. The CF is very smooth but somewhat not fit perfectly. I guess as the heat built up inside the engine bay CF will change and will discolor as well. Enjoy..............

Actually the battery cover warpped so I need to have that piece bend in ward or redo it. The fabricator said just to be careful about the heat build up.

I had a package deal to make other stuff beside the engine bay. They charged me over $2000. I had the engine bay, interior, pillar and door sill done.

I have an A Spec kit but had a custom front lip and rear diffuser and cost me about $1300

You should really consider getting that guy to custom fab some stuff for the 3G TL and start selling I'd buy a rear carbon fiber diffuser for the A-spec kit in a heartbeat, and i'm sure others will as well

I would...if I had not already painted it black and love the flow!

I do want the engine cover, and seeing it on your car (since we both have blue AEM) let's me know it will look good!!

that looks really good. Much nicer than the CF pieces I have. I tell you CF, is really hard to work with. Thatweave is almost impostible to keep it consistant. Please post pics of the interior pieces.. i thought about doing the pillars but didn't know how it would affect the airbags.

Yes I told them specifically how I wanted the weave to be since I am very picky on details. Actually I meant about the door pillar outside by the side windows. Not the pillar inside. I should get the door sills this week so I can post on Ver 2 for my CF goodies

Related to this thread just how hot temp wise does it get under the engine cover?

Does it get over 170 degrees? I have a paint process I'm looking into for the cover but it only withstands heat to 170

So far since it's been quite hot in L.A. area for a week or so, the CF overlay been holding up very well. I did not see any discolor YET but I notice the cover for the battery section are about to warp. So I took that part out and make an extension on the clip. I will post some pic later today to show you which area are warping. Other than that, its been holding up well. I think as in temp wise, it is well over 170 degree since its been scorching hot in LA.
