Blown A-Spec (emblem option)

Hey...I have been looking for a unique emblem that is not the chevy supercharged emblem for the back of my car and found this one. I had to modify it by cutting off the mounting posts on the back with a dremel....and added emblem tape (which was kind of a bitch given this is script) but this was the result....what do you think? Better/Worse/or About the Same as the Chevy block supercharged emblem? I know some dont like emblems at all...and that is ok...but for those that do or have installed the block emblem that says supercharged (chevy emblem from the cobalt SS)...what do you think? Figured I would display this as another option?

Excuse the dirtiness....havent had time to shine emblem yet after install...its kinda cold out here...had to heat surface with heat gun for good stick....

Here is a pic from farther off so you can get an idea of scale...cause it looks kinda HUGE in the first pics...but I was kinda careful NOT to get a HUGE one....

Seems like it has a domestic style to it, rather than an import. I like the idea, but maybe something a little more "tech-like".

Your right Ron...thats what I was looking for too (not the domestic look...something different)...just not a lot of options out there. That is actually an old (I believe) Mr. Gasket metal emblem that had pins on the back of it...so it was kind of a pain from the get go. All the others I found were like HUGE in size....and this was the best I could find at the time (so far anyway...but still looking....you never know what you are gonna find!) But I know what you mean about looking kinda domestic....but how bad can it be....the block ones are actually FROM a chevy....lol. You know me though...always trying something different.

Actually Ron...kinda OT...but I really like those new rims you have coming out. Thinking maybe a change is in order one of these days. Those Raven black wheels look very nice! Any specials running at all?

Cursive shouldn't be allowed on cars - doesn't look right

Otherwise, isn't a bad idea at all

Actually I think this could work nicely, I really like how the length of the script matches the length of the a-spec badge. If you were to lower the script so it is really close to the a-spec badge it will help graphically to harden up the cursive feel of the "blown" text and unify it into a single image which will be more balanced. Graphically it will look like a bold underline, rather than 2 seperate badges. It will make it look cleaner and simpler. bummer is you need to move it!

Sorry Mike, but it looks like a dealer's emblem. Somebody on here had an emblem that said "supercharged" that was made in the same vain as the ASPEC emblem...I don't remember where they got it/what car is was from, but it didn't look too bad. For some reason I'm reminded of a rather modified C6 I saw that had a license plate that read "BLWNVETT"...

Are you gonna pop that chevy one on the grill like acuradriver? I thought that looked pretty good.

Though you are right, it is weird to see people debadge only to put on different badges later

Yes...as stated above...it comes from a Chevy Cobalt SS. They are riddled all over ebay too....cheap! But I had seen that one so many times...I was looking for something different than everybody else had.

Nope....no emblem on the grill for me. (but it didnt look bad or anything on Acuradrivers car). And ya....I hear ya on the rebadge thing....I kinda thought about that too...but just said WTF.

Actually....Comptech sends two small square "Supercharged by Comptech" decals in the kit...just never considered using them. They look like small fender decals or something.... They are sitting on the coffee table in my parts room....(fiancee is coming....oh shit)....errr aaah....the Living Room I mean! lol. Ya...that what that place WAS at one time.

Back to this one...yes...I looked at these...and they are a bit more rounded across the face...and the A-Spec is flatter....which in my opinion....just bothered me.....so I never went for it. (there is a cobalt SS at my work that I walk past everyday and I was checking his out) Your right though...it is a VERY similar flavor to the A-Spec emblem.....but has a more round face to it.

Oh well....Just trying something a little different? Just thought I would share and post the info to the polethera of info here to draw from!

If there is anybody interested...these are also on ebay too. And it is an actual metal emblem...not coated plastic. BUT...if you dont want to drill two holes (and you dont...trust me...that makes it removable at any time if you do adhesive instead...plus the permanent holes otherwise) you will have to dremel the back studs off and apply emblem tape to it.

I think that one as a replacement for the A-spec badge would be pretty subtle and original as well!

Thats the Chevy Cobalt emblem. Yep...several are already using it now. Was trying for something different....(echo echo echo....lol....read above...thread not THAT long...lol) But yes...you can get either one of em on ebay!! My issues with that badge....the edges are offset/jogged...the A-spec badge isnt...the face is rounded...the A-spec badge is flat faced...ect. To me...they are just enough off to not match the way I want em to.

i agree that the cursive looks very domestic. those rims are very nice and the supercharger emblem is perfection.

you should put a GTR autozone emblem on your car and start spanking cars

Props to you for originality... If it's not too big of a bitch to do, you should try and see if you can move it closer to the A-SPEC emblem so that it doesn't look like a dealer stamp... it's a cool idea, tho

ah, gotcha... and I just noticed that if I had read, I would know that - sorry for being redundant/repetitive. I wouldn't put that on my car for the same reasons you stated, but was still curious about it nonetheless. Do you have a photo gallery of ur car? your avatar makes me wanna see more lol - it looks sick
