Yeah, it's fixed and ready to be picked up.
Car was wetsanded and detailed yesterday, hopefully it looks decent. New paint on the front and rear bumpers.. hopefully my sister can keep it like this.

Still have the TL.. which is my sister's DD. Car still running strong even with nicks and scratches everywhere. Even though I've moved onto different cars.. I still definitely like coming back to AcuraZine to browse. I had a tons of support here for my TL so I genuinely enjoy sharing my "new" car experiences with everyone here.
As some of you may know I had a 07 335 that I sold earlier this year as I was living in Manhattan. But as this year is coming to a close.. I've decided to move out of Manhattan so I pulled the trigger on another BMW. An 08 E93 M3 w/ 6MT.
She has 121K on the dash. Did a PPI on it before I purchased it and she turned up okay. Just need to address a few maintenance items. I bought a ton of fluid from Turner (engine oil/filter, cabin filter, engine filter, transmission fluid/filter/gasket ring, differential fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant) and had her serviced last weekend.
Here are some pics!

Anddddd it may be a wrap folks..
My sister calls me last night to tell me the car broke down while she was driving and it wouldn't start anymore. So I drove on over and had the car towed to my mechanic. Left it there overnight and he called me this morning to tell me that the timing belt broke...
It's so odd that it snapped because I did the service when I first bought the car in 2009 at 95K miles..
I don't see the car much as my sister now drives it and I don't live at home so I couldn't tell if the car had any problems. We did regular maintenance on it.. brakes, oil, tires, etc and I didn't think it needed much attention. I guess I was wrong.
My mechanic proposed to throw on a new timing belt and see if it'll turn over. If it doesn't.. then I may just need to sell the car, possibly to a dealer buddy of mine. If it does work.. then I'll go ahead and replace the water pump, tensioner, and all supporting components.
She's at ~170K miles and treated me pretty well during the time I had her.. let's hope the engine isn't damaged (whatever minuscule chance that may be).

And for the people who are still interested in following the progress on the M3.. this is my link: ArthurL's E93 M3 Progress Thread - Page 5
I've done a few mods on her already.

You can buy J's for $500-600 all day. Engine swap, call it a day. Cheaper than repairing.
Throwing a belt on it and hoping an interference engine turns good is pipe dreams/1 in a million sorta luck.

+1 to the swap...am sure the heads (valves mainly) took a beating and are bent!
swap the motor (easier than swapping heads), make sure all the stuff on the new (to you) motor is done, do an oil change even if it was "done" yesterday by the seller...will be cheaper as well easier...

Even a few seconds at cruise after it snapped.. say 1800 RPM is ~50-100 rotations, unless all the valves seated right above the top end of the stroke, you're probably not that lucky. I would do compression and leak down. Maybe even scope it to look for strikes or bent valves if you can get a clean picture. If it runs, replace all the components in that list I posted, and cross your fingers you don't drop a valve down the road.

We've been rubbing off on Steven!
Artie...FUCK. Sorry to hear that, man. I can understand you going on the mission to keep her on the road for yourself...but if your sister is anything like most chicks...she'll be in a new jetta tomorrow already anyway.
Good luck, man...keep us posted. I follow your FB M3 updates. Most days I plot how I'd kill you and then make love to your car...but sometimes, I'm not envious and I'm really happy for you!

Hey guys, sorry.. I didn't have a chance to look at the thread until now.
So the price for the timing belt is $250..
My other buddy is going to charge me $1250 total for a newer engine installed. If it comes down to it.. I'll just do the engine swap. The car isn't worth much now so I probably won't get anything if I sell it as it's a salvage title, after my sister got into the accident.
As for what was replaced when I bought the car.. that I'm not too sure on, unfortunately.
Hahaha

Your sister totaled it..
Was that posted here.. sheesh.
Those are decent prices, but I'd first check to see why the timing belt snapped. Might be residual from the accident.

Sooooo..
THE ENGINE IS FINE!
My sister picked up the car this afternoon. My mechanic threw on the new timing belt and the engine started right up. We then proceeded to replace the water pump, tensioner, cam seals, crank seals and serpentine belts.
Talk about being lucky.. this car was supposed to be junked twice.
I'm hoping she hits at least 200K.
