05 with 07 Type S front bumper + spoiler completed

Well, guys I guess the front under grills have to come off to install the new lip spoiler... This front underbody spoiler fit better than the other kind. with the rubber space filler, it'll leave no gap like the privious version of the a-spec front spoiler. Do any of you know if I can squeeze the mesh part behind the lower grill and the A-Spec front lip? Here are the pix

the new chrome trim on the hood...

left over parts...

Looks good psheu.............I don't know if you can squeeze the grates back in or not - you would know best since you did the install...LOL

Why do they have to be removed>? Does the lip fit inside the opening and use the mounting tabs from the former grate grill?

Thanx SteveP66, well, first off, the bumper have to come off (again to get to the back of the lower grill and tab). the lip fit inside the opening and use the mounting tabs from the previous mesh grill. at first, I thought it was a simple cover over. The instruction I got from the dealer said that the original mesh grill and the fog light molding have to be "Discarded" (were they out of their mind!!! so I saved that piece ). the back of the grill, the plastic vent housing can be reused so the fog light wires won't be exposed. I guess in order for that mesh part to go back some cutting and dremel work needs to be done... sigh... since the lip spoiler rise up higer the mounting tab on the wheel wall situated higher and the old one front the previous spoiler won't work any more (saved that piece also for the next lucky TL to get my bumper and spoiler ) my question is, will people be insterested in the mesh part of the grill + the fog light molding? and is there a clear bra that'll fit this TL setup? and where can I get them?

I'm pretty sure you can get a clear bra for it.......after-all the nose is an 07 and they make clear bra's for that.

I think you could probably figure out a way to pop that mesh back in there............but you could also do some nice black mesh too. That might be easier...........

Agree! personally I think it'll be easier to do the black metal mesh and clip them in between the bumper and the spoiler. where can I get a nicely cut mesh grill? I've never seen a clear bra that'll fit the under spoiler also... I have hard time finding one for my old spoiler and bumper

Thanx XjoEnX, Do you know if they make LED fog light bulb? I want to convert one set of my 2 fog light sets into LED fog so it won't take that much power. currently I'm running both fog lights on same wire.

You can try this place http://customcargrills.com/ for some nice mesh.........I might be ordering some in the near future for my lower grills.
I have the sample pack from them and the stuff looks/feels nice - I just have to decide on the color - finish - style.

looks great.

If you don't mind my asking, how much was everything? How did you hook up the fog lights?

~$450 for the 07 type S bumper + fog lights + grills + bumper absorber
~$235 for the front lower spoiler
~$20 chrome trim piece for hood

the fog lights are tapped into the same fog light wires in 04-06 fog light. took the car to the dealer and have them look at it. The electrical mechanics told me that the worse case scenario is the fuse popped. if the fuse didn't pop, it's all good. However, I'm looking to replace one set of the fogs into LED bulbs for a lighter electricity load on the wire. any suggestions?

Yep... that's everything... the bumper came as is... I didn't do any mod. to it... I guess some unfortunate type S with the same color as mine seen a better day and ended up parting everything... look around and be patient, some good deal bound to come around But one thing for sure, they fit perfectly without having to do any adjustments watch that diy video from this forum... it's the most useful video and it'll save u bundle on installation costs

Yep... they rid up higher and covers over the entire lower front grills just like the RL's and TSX's. the mounting tab behind the wheel wall is also higher than the one in the 04-07 a-spec lip. This lip is design to fit the type S TL with the tip of the fog light housing slent downward.

Looks good from here! Also, it looks like Steve and I have a new chrome grill cousin.

What are you doing with your leftover A-spec front bumper?

I haven't decided yet. The bumper cover is still at my friend's backyard (where I had my work done. He got all the tools). The old A-spec spoiler is in the garage along side the original side rocker panel. I might just sell the set I guess

Of course. I know a body shop guy, so my paint work doesn't cost me too much. This might be a good opportunity for me to get the front A-spec bumper, so I thought I'd run the idea by you.

Man,

For some reason i just do not feel that front bumper at all..

It looks way too pieced together..

I hate the look of plastic overlaying plastic dramatically. it is way too high on the sides and doesn't flow well in the middle like the old A-Spec it does not look like an extension of the original bumper like its predecessor.... Looks rushed and kinda awkward

Why in the Hell couldn't Acura just make a seperate one piece front bumper for the A-Spec that would have looked so damn hot

PLEASE take those side moldings off it would like 10000X better without them it kills the flow of the TL from the side

Oh well if you like it more power to ya

I still have my front old bumper with a-spec front under spoiler... prob. not that much (well, at least it's way below the cost)... but do you want the under spoiler also, or just the bumper? the only problem is the shipping. I have no idea how much the shipping cost

Your car is a 2005....it's SSM, not ASM. Does this mean that there is no difference between the two colors?

Uhhh... last time I checked my car color is Alabaster Silver Metalic... so I guess I have the ASM. I think the Satin Silver Metalic (SSM) is the color in 2nd gen TL... the color of the bumper matched up perfectly

That's strange - I thought ASM was only an 06 color....... 05 and older would have been SSM.

So does the 2007 bumper just snap on? Same mounting points and everything? Any mods needed? Someone did a hit and run on my car on friday the 13th so now my bumper and A-Spec lip is pretty much destroyed. I was thinking about getting a 2007 Base bumper + A-Spec lip but I wanna make sure everything mounts up the same.

My '04 is SSM, says it on the Acura Owner link.. ASM did start in 06 AFAIK. Either way it seems like it matches up pretty well. Looks nice!
