The real question is why? The stock 3G has tons of reserve built in to the cooling system.

"The real question is why? The stock 3G has tons of reserve built in to the cooling system."

I have a s/c on my tl recently i notice my upper radiator hose is starting to get "some marks" on the s/c side of the hose. I never liked how close the hose is to the s/c and to be honest i dont want to run into a problem in regards to this in the future. So now i want to get a aftermarket radiator and if needed custom to relocate the upper neck to a different location so it wont come close to the s/c. Can someone help me out >?
thanks

I can't help on the radiator, I would suggest searching the Accord forums.

It sounds like you need to fab up a bracket to hold the upper hose off the blower instead of getting a whole new radiator. There are also steel braided sleeves that slide over the hoses and will protect them. Also, you can go to silicone instead of rubber that should last the life of the car.

Another option, sometimes you can twist the hose just a little and tighten the clamp to gain an extra 1/4" if it's that tight.

my rad hose is marked up also, but it wont burn through, that part of the hose is now baked...its only a little nick...since it sits on the edge of the SC, and a small piece of a flat bracket in between the hose and the SC would take care of that....the nicking happens from the hose wobbling around on the edge of the sc while its hot. so again, a small flat bracket in between (like IHC suggested), or even sliding a piece of split metal tubing over the part of the hose where it rests on the SC would take care of that.

as far as a new radiator and having to relocate the upper neck, thats just too big of a deal for what you're trying to correct.

$250-350 vs few bucks, for the fix...really think about it

hope this helps

I put two zipties around the radiator hose where it has been rubbing the blower. There are all sorts of methods you can try to prevent the hose from rubbing. But yes a radiator where the snout is located in the center would make all of us SC guys feel a little more at ease.

hey michael, griffen made my custom radiator, you might want to try giving them a call. the core is also double the capacity of the oem one too

OR you can simply buy a new alum oem radiator and relocate the upper hose like everyone says, but you might want powerdercoat the upper tank cause it wont look very pretty :/

Out of curiosity, did you have cooling issues or was it a precaution?

well, the accord radiator is a bit closer and sits lower than the TL's radiator, which makes it a tighter fit. some guy with a 7th gen accord lived near griffen and was going to be the first 7th gen to be supercharged using a 3rd gen TL kit. he unfortunately ran into some money problems, posted up that he was backing out of the project and was selling the radiator on ebay. i scored and won it for 425 shipped

he paid 750. for it O.o
