What tips to get for my magnaflows?

Hello,

I just bought the magnaflow 11365 mufflers (two), I would like to know what kind of tips can I get for the muffler? I don't like the quad tips because I don't have a type s rear or a aspec rear.....so I want bigger tips for the rear.

Let me know what you guys suggest. Will I bolt these on to replace my stock mufflers? I already have the stage 3 done.

thanks

Here the mufflers http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/buy...art-11365.html

I say stick with stock tips they look the best, and have these mufflers welded in.

One more vote for stock tips.
Some of the coolest looking dual exhaust tips out there IMO, and our bumper cutouts are designed around them.

Here's the sound you have to look forward to. I think it's louder in person than in the video.

Stocks don't look bad in the video, you have the shop "extend" the tips? And cool thanks for the video.

Do you have the same mufflers as me? What kind of resonator are you running? Did you just replace the mufflers or did you make it into a "custom" catback? And lastly any drone?

Sorry for throwing all the questions at you.

Haha no problem, I'm happy to answer questions.
I just told the welder I wanted the tips positioned the same way they were with the stock mufflers in place. I don't think they had to extend anything, but I can't say for sure. If the shop finishes yours and it looks the least bit "off", make them fix it before you pay. Inspect it from several angles, up on the lift and on the ground.

I have those same mufflers, deleted mid-muffler, and dynomax resonator in place of the stock one. J-pipe, cats, and all piping aside from the parts listed, are completely stock.

I think it's a great sound, considering it was about $350 with all parts and labor. I added the magnaflow mufflers last, which made the setup MUCH louder and deeper.

There is no rasp at all, but it does drone a bit under heavier load from 2000-2800RPM. Decelerating in gear, it has a very slight droning noise which I think sounds cool. Under light throttle (<10%), it's practically silent. Heavier throttle in this range leads to drone though. If I'm going up a long hill where I would be in the 2k-2.8k range, I'll throw it down a gear just to be at 3k rpm and avoid the sound. If I don't do that, one of my roommates will complain that it sounds like we're on a jet.

Thanks for answering all my questions. Looks like we will have the same setup. I did the stage 3 and after awhile I wanted something loud, so I ordered these. I would like to thank TLDUDE876, helped me save $100 on the mufflers.

I have one more request. Do you have a start up (cold start) video? How about a video closer to the car?

Type-S = 2 - 89mm slant cut per side. A member here named Terry out of SF has a few pics of this TL-S in his garage. Looks sick...

Without Type-S rear, go for smaller 80mm or the single larger 105-119mm setup.

I did the same thing: first midmuffler delete but it was too quiet, then "stage 3" but it was still too quiet, so I bought the magnaflows as soon as I found a good deal on ebay. Just about a year later, and I'm still pretty satisfied. I've even gotten compliments from total strangers haha.

I don't have any more videos unfortunately. I know there used to be some good cold start & in-car clips of this setup on youtube. I just looked for a little while and couldn't find them though.
Maybe they're somewhere in the 52 pages of this thread...

If you've already bought the mufflers though, I'm sure you'll get to hear it soon enough. The cold start sounds good, I promise.

Also, don't be disappointed if it still seems too quiet right after you install the magnaflows. Mine took a thousand miles or so of driving before they "broke in" and reached their full volume.

I think there's some sound-deadening material inside that becomes a little more free flowing as it sees more heat cycles.
