AEM V2 FTW!! Just got mine installed this past Sunday...bad ass.

I'll probably get a jpipe down the road a bit, and maybe catback exhaust FWIW.

GET THE V2, it's awesome. Especially with the thinner air we have up here.

All CAI's = same.

But, I prefer the AEM. Regarding another mod, the j-pipe will net you more gains than any other single bolt-on.

does AEM v2's parts break down easily? I saw other thread about some part of AEM broke and he had to replace it.

Is there a significant difference with the AEM CAI installed?
I'm interested in getting one too.

No. All CAI will yield about the same power gains which arent much. There will be a slight difference in sound with the AEM V2, because the design changes the acoustics of the sound. As far as intakes go, Any of the brands mentioned above are good. To answer the other question about AEM intakes braking. That happened with the V1 intake at the mount, mainly due to the intake being mounted to the absorber to tight. The intake has to be able to move with the tourque of the engine. My AEM V1 intake has been on my car for almost 2 years, and I've had no problems with it yet.

i would say you lose initial low end torque with a CAI and also throttle response...I have a K&N intake for about 5 years now and tried it in short ram and currently have it all the way and had it like that for the most part but more just cause i always kept thinking - short ram, hot air, loss of performance. But i did feel a better throttle response while having it in short ram. Im sure CAI helps on the top end but for regular driving i would think there is a little negative side to it as you would have that initial delay on the gas pedal.

i might be wrong, it all might be in my head but then again who knows ...

I kind of noticed the same thing on my 05 TL. I had a K&N CAI, and noticed it seemed like there was a tad more "lag" or loss of response at low RPM. I wasnt sure if it was that or just my imagination. I sold my o5 and got a 07 TL-S and now i am debating on getting an AEM v2 or not. I want the extra performance but dont want to just be paying for sound. I prefer my performance to be bottom end too as i dont plan on going 100+ very often so i dont see the need for insane top end gains. I think i am going to do PCDs, Jpipe, Pulley, ATF fluid to Redline or Amsoil, seafoam/throttle body cleaning, then do a CAI and see if those extras help make a difference.

For me it was a night and day difference. The suspension makes a huge difference and you can feel the extra power. That in addition to all of the styling changes and i am very happy i switched to the TL-S

Weapon R makes poor quality parts with problematic fitment.
FUJITA is on the verge of going out of business from what we can tell.
AEM V2 is the best intake for the 3rd gen TL. Larger piping, better technology, superb quality.

I don't get it. All AEM V2 owners say you should buy it in every thread. Why the hesitation? Why want 2nd best?

I normally try not to voice oppinion much, but its getting annoying hearing lots of people say get the AEM V2. To date, I have yet to see comparative dyno sheets proving that this intake really makes more power than the others. It's a tube. Bottum line. You might gain a couple horsepower in the upper RPM range, but don't expect much. An intake is an intake, not a turbo. AEM V1 with thermo wrap works just fine for me. Fujita and injen are also great intakes. Its not going to make much difference whats used here.

^^ The v2 fits perfectly on the '04-'06 TL with absolutely NO additional modification needed. I had the same concern as you with some people saying that the fit is off, but that's for the 07-08 type s because of the IM spacer and foglight housing. the vibramount lines up perfectly on the 04-06 too. Best price I found was ecsmotorsports.com FWIW.

Hi Guys

I have a 2008 Tl type s and I am looking for a Aem V2 cold air intake but some stores around and AEM themselfs told me they did not make it for my year. Anyone have a 07-08 type s and get the V2 for it? IF so is there a v2 out there fitted under another car that will fit on the 08 type ? Please any help would be great thanks /

I believe you have to buy the V2 made for the '06-'08 Accord V6 & it should fit just fine.

Hey Nighthawk I didn't see this question in your other thread until after it was closed.

I have a V2 for my 05TL and it's the same model as the one they sell for accords.

This is the model number: 24-6110C

I was able to fit it with no modifications at all. It's just it was designed for the accord and I guess it's a fluke that it fits our 3g TL's perfectly (or near perfectly, had a bit of trouble with getting it mounted onto the vibration mount but I just didn't use the rubber washer thing... hopefully won't be an issue, doesn't seem to be).

I have an 07 TL-S and i moved the grounding screws in the left fender to put the vibration damper in, but AEM is phenomenal, and i've had no trouble with water or anything and it sounds sweet IMHO

Just to be clear, I also moved the grounds. I still had a bit of trouble but it's only because I'm new to working on cars in general. The V2 definitely fits.
