TLS supercharger question

Hey all,

I was just wondering who has a 07+ TLS that is supercharged? I was thinking of getting a supercharger but don't know what kits/brands there are out there and whats involved in putting one in.

That thread died a while ago. Check out the turbo threads instead, there's actually some promise there.

I have an RL that I want to supercharge. The RL and the TLS share the same engine that is why im trying to source out a supercharger. I don't think the SH AWD can handle a turbo.

That would be a first. The problem is the RL and TLS don't share the same ECU and there's virtually no tuning out there for the RL and there lies the problem. You'd have to start completely from scratch including all mounts/hoses/hardware/tuning. Sorry but i'd say you're out of luck.
However, the TL on the other hand should have some good options soon..

CT-engineering makes a Supercharger for the 3.5 L engine.
Is the TLS and the RL engine the same?
Is the space under the hood the same?
Subsonsonicmotorsports did a TLS and the pictures on their web site appear like the Supercharger should fit.

3.2 vs 3.5 is the same exact kit. only thing comptech does is modify their PCM. i think.

it was never clear about the tuning...guy was a jerkoff

s/c "bolted" on the type-s ... because it was still practically the same as the 3.2L Base TL

The RL? Im sure thats a ways off... probably different TB, no brackets will fit... belts, tuning, ... doubt u could even physically bolt it on the RL

we will find out the answer to the question, Can the CT-engineering supercharger for the RL be bolted onto a 2007 Acura RL.
Autowave in Huntington Beach will be doing the Job.
Auto Wave has access to shops that can do custom brackets if needed.
The lay out of the engines is the same and Acura is known for keeping the same designs with in their family of cars.

I think it would be pretty cool to have a 400 horsepower RL.

400hp is reaching a bit, especially with the mp62. if your serious about SCing an RL, look into swapping in a mp90, but then your opening up another whole can of worms =/

also, autowave is wayyyyyyy to overpriced as far as im concerned. they do decent work, but will give you their "bendoverspecial" when its time to pay the bill i assure you...

if you want custom work like this done, i advise to go down to 4AE motorsport in s el monte. chui is a mad man! he's an electrical/mechanical genius motor swaps, 6spd conversions, custom work, etc,... you name it, he can do it. he's the only one that has ever touched my car and he doesnt charge enough for the work he does too. the guy put a 2jz swap in a 1997 mercedez 300e and a rb26dett in a G35. so putting a comptech supercharger in a RL should be cake for him

What experience do you have with Autowave?

Autowave is CT- Engineering's preferred installer in our area for their superchargers.
They do 1000 hp NSX's.

^^ EXACTLY!! they are CT- Engineerings preferred installer yada yada yada, so they are allowed to overcharge you who really gives a sh!t they do 1000hp NSX's, you dont have one do you?

i personally met shane awhile back before i installed my supercharger 3 years ago. i had a base dyno done and told him i was about to purchase the kit. he said he can send my car down to hondata, but will charge me 850. for the reflash (basically charging me 250. for taking my car down there) then when he noticed it was an accord and not a TL, he mentioned that they can hardwire an AEM EMS for 3000.00 but i would lose my TCS, ABS, convert from DBW to a standard cable,. etc,.... when i mentioned i was planning to tune with a greddy ultimate, he laughed and said it couldnt be done

i also told them i was getting a good deal on the supercharger and asked how much it would cost to get it installed. they said they wouldnt warranty the charger or installation unless i purchased the supercharger through them and they wanted 1200. bucks more than what i was paying for it through josh at excelerate at the time (3800 shipped) they really wanted to jam me up and just because i told them nate from comptech reccommened them, they wanted to a$$ rape me.

anyways, go for it man if it makes you feel warm and cozy inside just because they are a "CT-engineering preferred installer". chui at 4AE is more than capable of doing the job for you and he has the hookups on all the custom fabbed brackets you need. he hand built the motor mounts for the rb26dett install for the g35 his garage may not be as pretty as autowave's, but who really cares? your paying for the work and quality, not for the shop.

Thank you, for your honesty and Candor.

How has your car been running over a 3 yr period?
Any problems?

what was the total cost for the Supercharger installed?

How much horse power did you start with and how much did you end up with?

Did you end up doing anything with Hondata?

How did you contact them?

Did you upgrade the suspension and Brakes?
