Thinking of going boost by end of summer...

Hey guys, well i decided to keep my TL. I feel in love with it agian haha. But i was thinking of going turbo. I was considering going with a single Garrett T3/TO4E 50 trim w/ .48 thats supports up to 400whp. Reason being, I want to run about 300-325whp (on auto tranny, not sure its limits?). Here is the parts i was considering going with so far, please give me some input. Thanks!

-Garrett T3/TO4E 50 trim w/ .48
-TIAL 38MM WASTEGATE
-TiAL BLOW OFF VALVE
-Greddy RSX FMIC (hehe i love ur look ACCURATEin!)
-Greddy Emanage w/PnP Harness
-Custom 3inch TurboBack
-AEM TruBoost
-RSX TypeS Injectors(310cc i believe)

Anything else i need? Any input on stuff i have listed?

Thanks!!!

On a more serious note...

1) There is no solid source for a tune

2) TL's don't have an external, removable exhaust manifold...its one with the engine block. You might be able to have someone custom fab a setup, but I can't see a built in exhaust manifold doing very well with a turbo setup.

If you want boost, get the Comptech supercharger.

...I don't see it possible unless you have $8-10k+ for this...and even then..not worth it at all.

1) you can tune fine with emanage.

2) thats why i said Custom exhaust,i obviously kno that there is no exhaust manifold and i would be removing the cats and having the pipes come in towards the battery (relocated to trunk) and a turbo mounted there and then the exhaust fabbed up.

Parts would cost ME about $4k, Labor for custom fab is cheap (buddy owns a shop) and then its just tuning. so nowhere near 8-10k for myself.

he has already done a custom turbo setup on a 2g TL and CL, both tuned with Emanage and driven daily.

Well go for it man, we're not trying to put you down, just giving you some more information as in what you will run into. The performance experts will chime in but if it was easily possible, it would have been done already. But hopefully you'll work something out and open another door for us 3Gers

first off, it doesnt make much sense to go turbo, if your goal is 300-325whp. comptech supercharger will get you that with more reliability. turbocharging causes alot more stress, especially on an engine not design for boost.

its always easy to project parts, money, labor, time,, but going custom with anything, it just never works out that way. comptechs proven and it sounds like your on the right path with the emanage. thats the missing link most people dont have
