Thinking about Parting S/C on TL 6spd.
I recently just bought my 04 TL 6 spd. w/ CT S/C. I am seriously thinking about taking it out/selling it. There's too many hassles right now:
1.Surging issue
2.I know the surging can be fixed w/methanol/JnR ECU, however I dont want to put more money into like that
3.Simple maintenance stuff (battery/coolant) become a hassle to check on.
On the other hand, I would also like to bring it to someone local who can take a look at everything, and just assure me everything is done right on the car. I live in North NJ. Let me know guys.

Gotz 2 have $$$$
I think you need more info for other readers, you missed out a few important ones. Not sure if you bought the car with a SC or you or some friends installed it.

Yes I did buy it like that from the dealership. I read on here that the
Intake setup on the s/c kit is a joke. What do you guys have installed. I know
Its prob something custom, but just looking to get this done asap

It's so hard when a car does not have an engine managment to datalog any of your problems. Whatever you take, do it for your good investments. Sell it and gain approx $2K or invest in another $2K - $3K for the ecu and tuning. You're still putting up at least $2K into it at the end.

A custom intake for the SC is pretty easy and cheap to make. I bought a cheap eBay CAI for the TL and with a silicon elbow ( I think it was a 180 degree bend ) and just hacked up the intake, spun the tubing to go the direction I needed and connected it together with 2 silicon pipe connectors.
It gets rid of the nasty oily stock filter the SC comes with and really unleases the whine from the SC. Maybe a few HP but the sound change is well worth it.

Update on OP. He's removed the Comptech supercharger kit. The blower has 20K on it, and was only installed on that TL. I knew the person who had the TL before OP bought it. Contact OP if you guys are interested in a full SC kit.
