Interesting. Sounds suspect. Small chance that the battery was draining faster than it was charging. Unlikely, but plausible with you draining the system with maybe doors open (interior lights) and running a big sound system. If so, the ecu may had experienced a brown-out (period of low voltage). There are many threads on our forum showing that our ecu will freak out with weird DTS codes (CEL codes) if the battery has low voltage.

Have you reset the ecu yet to see if the codes would return?

Well i do take care of the little fella....i had my windows down, interior lights turned off and door closed....to minimize the drain....the only reason I had my car running as I wanted to measure the voltages at the amp (from the HU) so I could find out why my processor wasnt working....

about WOT and Throttle Position, I have seen 2 parameters in Torque pro...Abosulte TP and Relative TP....can you explain me the difference ?

EDIT: I havent reset the ECU, but I might reset the ECU and see if the codes disappear....but these codes go and come....they have gone 2 times and come up 3....this time its taking a while to clear out....

So I had a chance to sit in Anil's car this past weekend. I must say, the seats he has in there are actually quite comfortable. Lots of padding, and if you could actually move it I'd be able to drive it, but I'm no short man (6'6). Passenger seat was perfect though. No issues with leg room and such. I must say Anil, well done

Couple updates:

1> Since i swapped bumpers with Mike (gave him my Type S aspec lip and got the base Aspec lip) the exhaust tips are not tooo flush, hence need to take care of that - Done
2> my end links are SHOT !!! so i might try to fix the issue or order some moogs end links from Amazon (GO PRIME !!!) - Ordered found em cheaper on Rockauto dot com
3> Need to make sure my bottom O2 sensors are nice and tight....been getting some codes on my scanner - read below
4> wrap the rest of my exhaust - done
5> try to move the rear coils so the rears can DROP to match the fronts - done on 1 side
6> need to do something to get more air circulation in the cabin (AC delete is a GO so far) - added the AC screen and blower fuse back on...the Dallas trip was a good experience for me (bad one for the wifey....she got cooked up sitting in 90deg car temp for 8 hours....poor thing) but when i buy a family car, the AC DELETE in this car is a GO
7> unBASTARDIZE my UCM - Done
8> need to make something so there is more air circulation under the hood....need to reduce them hood temps - trying a short ram intake
9> Finish my Dash so i can enjoy the muzik - Done
10> since the rear will be dropped take it in again for an alignment - next week

Some teaser pix of the exhaust wrap ?

How exactly does a short intake help under hood temps?

Ok here are couple things i wanted to write about some of the mods I have done....Its gonna be a long post !!!

Racing Seats: I would recommend this mod to anyone...I think if done properly with good seats, you will be loosing around 120lbs off the front half of the car....I have had the seats for over 2 weeks now and driven long distance in em and they are just awesome....i love my seats....they provide adequate amount of cushioning in the bottom and back and they hug you pretty well....

Running only 3 Gallons of gas: Another big hitter in the weights list....Adds a lot when you are looking to loose weight....however it is frustrating to get gas every other day...of if you go 20-30 miles away (downtown or some) you need gas the same day....another thing which I read on my recent CEL (codes P0171 and P0174 - System running too Lean on Bank 1 and 2) is that the fuel pump could be an issue....since am putting less gas in, gas which acts as a coolant + lubricant for the pump is not able to provide the cooling effect....now this is just in my head....i am going to start running 7 gallons of gas....

time for some Math
i know Tim has it as 44lbs's of weight lost....i saw on wiki answers that a gallon of gas weighs 6.07lbs....The TL tank is 17.1 lbs....I fill in 3 gallons of gas (assuming I have 0.5-1 gallon in there already)....so 17.1-4 = 13.1 gallons of fuel is what am not carrying anymore....when i weighed my car, I was running roughly full tank of gas....so if I had 15 gallons in there and am running only 4 gallons now....I have lost 11 gallons of weight which is 66 lbs....

I will be running 7 gallons of gas going forward....just to see if this issue is resolved....
so 15-7 = 8 gallons
8*6 = 48lbs

here is the link where i picked up the weight from
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_d...gasoline_weigh

Braille Battery: this light battery is actually a heavy weight....at first the car took a second to start....but i think my car realized its not getting all the CCA's or the car and the battery warmed up to each other but now the battery starts the car quicker than stock battery !!! absolutely awesome....

Interior Carpet/Trim Pieces/Delete/Rear seat/Spare Tire: Go for it...you wont miss a thing....adding all of this add up to around 150 lbs...

Exhaust Wrap: Just got it done yesterday so its early to give a review on this....I took the car in for tips realignment and did my exhaust wrap while he did the tips alignment....the exhaust WAS NOT OFF THE CAR....word of caution is WEAR GLOVES.....i love doing stuff with bare hands as they are my sensory organ but make sure you wear gloves....the exhaust wrap will cause blisters in your hand....but we went to the gym right after and as i jumped on the highway and was cruising at 70mph the wifey said "i cant hear the exhaust anymore"....there was a slight hmmm in the exhaust but it wasnt as loud anymore....it was more deeper....the "tin can" noise has also vanished...the exhaust sounds a little more deeper....the wraps didnt weight much (5lbs TOPS) but have done wonders for the sound so far...i would recommend this....i hope its helping the performance as well....

Ultimate Cooling Mod: I had the half UCM and transferred to a full UCM....i have not seen the underhood temps change much with the change....i will try this for couple more weeks and if the temps are not drastically different, then am gonna put half the crowl (technically 1/3) back on !!! besides finding a position to mount the sprayer is no fun !!!

MDX Spacer Delete + SHAWD TB/Manifold + 4" Intake: All I can say is WOW....the car accelerates a lot quicker and effortlessly....the manifold doesnt get heat soaked !!! i love this mod and its $$$ well spent....I am trying out a short ram intake right now and also figuring out different ways to cool down the overall underhood temps without spending an arm and a leg....the only this is with the MDX spacer gone there is not much air circulation under the manifold, where the runners sit and hence the temps are higher....when i had the MDX spacer, there was a lot more room underneath the manifold and plenty of air circulation....might dyno with an without the MDX spacer and delete it if am loosing power....(PS currently I do not have the spacer on....)

I think I have covered all the mods so far....I am going to carry a small toolkit + a screwdriver set in my car going forward "just incase"....

Chad my 4" intake was sitting right behind the engine fan hence sucking on the HOT air from the fan....so hotter manifold and making it a vicious circle....by making it a short ram, now its sitting ahead of the fuse box....hence a little cooler air ingested and hence cooler tb and mani

^^^ phee was I was saying is currently the location of the air filter is right behind the fan where the temps are high....by relocating the location of the filter i am able to get a little cooler air into the intake....

either way do explain your point of view...would like to learn....

Hey Swoosh! Car's lookin amazing and thanks for the updates!! One thing I do suggest however is a harness bar...it adds a little weight but I think it's definitely worth it for safety's sake...I'll take a pic of my setup for ya...

I don't recommend this method of fastening the harness. The forces could easily snap the bolt head off. The angle in which the forces are acting will bend the bolt and put the bolt at a huge mechanical disadvantage.

I hate sounding like an asshole, but I must say this just to clear my conscience.

^^^ This...I don't know about the forces easily snapping the bolt head off, but I must agree with Inaccurate that that is not the best setup. I believe my setup a few posts up is pretty much ideal next to having the harnesses attached to a full race cage. And Inacc, you def are not sounding like an asshole at all...just lookin' out for our fellow comrades!

If I know him and I think I do pretty well, he will never get a cage. I told him when we put those seats in that he needed something strong to mount them to. Anil, love ya man (no homo), but you need a cage brah. I like the look of fenda rollas and it prolly doesnt add much weight at all. And you can't put a price tag (or in your case a weight tag) on safety. DO IT!

Plus you would have a kick ass place to put your future Go Pro.

I was running a CAI but the 4" intake did not fit the intake opening (behind the bumper)....so now i modded the CAI and the filter was sitting right behind the engine fan sucking in HOT air....hence trying a short ram intake for the moment....

gonna hit the dyno and try both setups and stick with the one which gains the most

hell yeah bro....and you wont have to look tooo behind, will be riding your ass

but we need to meet up !!! you have been of great help and would love to meet up and hit the dyno or some like that

Yup i love the rpf's but i dig dig the te37's....at the same time the Motegi Traklites are sick as fuck....

but i need to sell my wheels before i buy new ones....else imma be living in that spare room in your apt you call "Anil's bedroom"

you do sound like a big asshole Tim

see what i did there LOL....there is so much to learn from you....i was honestly spending sooooo much time on this without much luck....so when I got the seat bracket thing figured out, i rushed through the final steps....

i def understand safety comes first and should have my first priority....I will be revisiting my seats (brackets) in the next few days....the passenger side sits way tooo low...its sturdy but I need to raise it up a bit without compromising the safety....and 2nd step will be to get the harness bar and do the seat belts the right way....

NRG 55" bar is what you got ? was it a good fit or did you have to do something else to get it fit ?

I have been looking for a cage....am disappointed bro, you love me but you dont know me at all

i have been looking at ERIC's (Accuratein's) setup and will be putting in a cage pretty damn soon....

Yes....am going to revisit the brackets first and then get the harness bar and get it "semi-caged"

Thanks bro! Yes, I have the 55" and it fits perfectly! Although I do have it attached to the stock seatbelt locations up top and bottom using the longer bolts provided with the harness bar...do you have the upper seatbelt adjusters and entire seatbelts removed?? If so, I don't think it would make much of a difference anyways...you just might need some metal spacers if anything...

And I believe the harness bar itself is made of steel...still not too heavy though, maybe 10-15 lbs tops, but I never weighed it to know exactly...

One other thing to mention, that harness bar is rock solid. There is no play or movement at all. I can grab it and if my car shook at all, it would...

Thanks Peter...

I will order the NRG bar shortly

I have removed couple other parts in the interior which are not on the list so I think this car will compensate for weight and safety....

EDIT: yes I have taken the complete OEM seatbelt assemble out....

Being a n00b, can I ask an honest question..

What are the benefits from removing all the stock interior parts? Are you doing the weight loss for MPG? Sorry if this has been covered, but I think you understand my not exactly wanting to read all 900 posts lol

^^^ all good....

well weight loss was not for MPG, i was getting 30+ MPG ALWAYS all highway....

i started doing this to get quicker, nimbler...i will be going in for a full blown engine built...in the next couple months (am thinking of putting the built on a hold until I have to do my timing belt and water pump again but am undecided as of now)....

weight loss has been the cheapest thing in my opinion to get quicker...

i took out thing which i didnt use and switched out my front seats for racing seats and there it was, lost 450+ pounds...tried harder, removed couple more thing, this shit is addictive....and am at 594lbs of weight lost....

my car has gotten a lot more nimble....its quick....

am target HP is 350WHP so the engine will be cranking out ~400ish HP but yes thats my target HP....
my target weight is after all addition and removals i want to be between 3000-3050 on the scale not just on the spreadsheet...!!!

It's "build" thread and engine "build", Anil. Unless you're calling it built on purpose.

I guess I was kinda wondering too, what is ultimate goal with this finally!??! Have you opted to grab another car as a DD, as mentioned!? Will you be tracking this car on a regular?!?! Drag racing at track, drag racing on the street!?! I mean, the MPG would be a HUGE motivator IMO, but if you were doing well before with all your music and AC for your girl...you know?!?!

See why I'm scared to even BEGIN removing stuff!

hahah yup calling that on purpose...am stunned no one caught that in 23 pages LOL....

Nope this will be my DD....no other car....
Will be tracking this car once the build is built <-- see what i did there

Well the AC was going to go since I never used it....but the Texas trip made me realize I that I still do enjoy taking long trips in my car and i would rather take my car on long trips that any other car....hence the AC went back in

About Drag racing, i dont think i will ever do that....just never understood the concept of going down a straight line....i like to be able to go around a circuit, quick !!! the hairpin turns, the chicane's, those fast spoon curves at the same time the back straight-a-ways...you know....

again, am a very simple person with this....you dont need it, it does out....you miss it? it comes back

the only thing am missing in my car is cupholders....and am custom fabbing some up
