Stupid RPM Question

i know this is probably one of the most NOOB questions to ever ask....but i always use sportshift...and i don't know if its me but i notice that if i use sportshift i seem to notice that i put more miles on the car because im constantly in 2nd and 3rd gear. and when im in automatic....its fine...am i just dreaming or am i doing something that is going to fuck me over in the future....

Driving longer and further...

Prolly you just enjoy your 2nd/3rd gears too much and forget to watch how much time you already spent on your car...

It should NOT... IMO.

Mechanically this should be impossible... The speedo/mileage is derived from the transmissions output shaft. You could be at different rpm/gears but the output shaft is still one with what the tires are doing.

I do believe Rets' explanation applies

Welcome!

Time flies when you are having fun, and so do the miles.
