I don't have straight pipes, but I do have an exhaust cutout in the 3rd cat location. It is very loud and raspy but fun for making noise.

Based on how bad some catbacks can sound, how can nothing be better????

HiSpeed has a turbo so that will also curb the sound a bit and I assume he is dumping right behind the downpipe which is about where the 3rd cat is supposed to be. That will change it a bit too compared to piping going out the back.

heres my car with no exhaust before we put my greddy on. Straight pipes might sound similar to this. it actually sounded pretty sweet in person.

^Opinions will definitely differ. To me, it reminds me of civic. You hear it coming and then marvel at how slow it's going.

here you go this is my car. intake, test pipe, no resonator, no mid muffler, and no mufflers. it actually sounds sick when you punch it but it gets really loud at times and the drone during highway driving gets really annoying. also if your coming home really late it tends to wake everyone up in your entire house haha

That doesn't sound good at all..... sorry

Do you still have the stock pre-cats or are those also replaced with PCD or HFC?

I think after all of the comments and videos I am going to have a 2.5 in. custom cat-back made with a magnaflow res. and possibly a magnaflow muffler where the stock third muffler is.

At some sections along it's length, it is 2-1/4" diameter at best. This I say because I have actaully measured the I.D. of the tubing. But from appearance, it seems some sections of the tubing probably has slightly less area than a 2-1/4" diameter due to becoming oval shaped versus round shape.

Ya I was taking a look under the car, and i was surprised to see the way the piping was et up going to the mufflers. Holy restriction.

Mike's TL sounds sick. I've never heard it in person, but in some videos I've seen it's jaw dropping. I thought it'd be raspy since there are no resonators/cats, but for some strange reason, it isn't!

If you wanna get an idea of how straight pipes would sound, just disconnect your exhaust after the 3rd cat. It will sound very similar. It sounds mean, but is pretty loud.

Check one of my threads called "Open Ypipe." It's not straight pipes, but has the same sort of sound that straight pipes would have. At the time I had PCDs/RV6 V1 Jpipe/3in piping & a huge Magnaflow resonator. It was loud as hell, but sounded pretty aggressive.

Very interesting video.
