Straight pipe or flowmaster

I deleted my resonator and out a straight pipe in and it sounds okay but at low rpms it's got a ricey tone to it. I want to delete my mid muffler but can't decide on straight pipe or a flowmaster super 44 or super 10, any suggestions!?

I'd recommend adding a smaller resonator back on kill some of the ricey rasp. I put a super 10 in place of my mid muffler and it droned pretty bad until I put on an even larger resonator, I'd recommend against that. It does sound nice but was obnoxious on the highway between 2100 RPM and 2800 anywhere else it was very aggressive. Not sure if the 44 would fit on there but if you go that route I'd straight pipe the middle and put one on each side out back.

As 350 said if you don't want that "Ricey" sound I'd recommend going with a resonator and some mufflers.

What muffler if you could choose any, doesn't matter flowmaster or another brand, what would you recommend?

What resonator would you recommend? I'm thinking a dynomax but need an opinion of what would be great, I'm a noob when it comes to the right exhaust set up

the dynomax is one of the most popular..it's very free flowing. I myself have one waiting to get installed once i get my other exhaust parts needed.

Truth be told I wish I had just stuck with the "stage 3", which is a smaller Dynomax res in place of stock and no mid muffler, stock rear mufflers, but I had already cut my rear mufflers off. It sounded good til I drove a cammed V8 again now I wish I had just kept it simple, a little more growl without being overkill.

Did you put a straight pipe In place of the mid?

I did straight pipe in place of the rear two mufflers, but I'd rather have done straight pipe in place of the mid muffler, I replaced the mid muffler with a FM 10 series but wish I hadn't, since I already had it on there I went and added a larger resonator cause it droned so bad. If hacking up stock exhaust I'd go as simple as possible, since I already cut it in enough spots I'm not gonna mess with it anymore unless I get new pipes. The revs sound good but other than that I find it annoying.

This is before the Flowmaster with the stock mid muffler still in place, wish I kept it that way but I get itchy with mods and like to change stuff up often.

So in the last video that's just a dynomax with no mid and stock rears? what the sound difference be if I deleted the mid and added magnaflows to the rear with a dynomax, would it make a difference in sound at all?

Last video is stock mid muffler, no rear mufflers, I did the opposite of most people just to try something different. If you had Magnaflows back there it would be maybe just a little deeper and a little quieter, should sound good. I liked that sound a lot.

In my previous exhaust set-up, I used a dynomax resonator and it worked pretty well to get rid of the "ricey" sound produced from the muffler deletes.

Did you have any drone or anything with the rears taken out?

Just a little, it was way worse when I put the Flowmaster on, it's still on the car now but I added another resonator.

So you added two resonators to make the flowmaster not drone?

Basically yes, and it still drones a little lol. That's why I recommend skipping it even though it sounded very nice revving. Highway driving sucked before the second resonator, it wouldn't have been as bad if it was just straight pipe the whole way.

To avoid drone and rice, you need a resonated exhaust with mufflers. My plan is to do Magnaflow "knock offs" (which are made in the Magnaflow factory) because I have ran them on 3 of my past cars, and replace the factory mid muffler with a Glasspack resonator an some new tips. It should do the trick and will be much less expensive than any of these $600+ cat back systems. Sure, the mainstream catbacks are mandrel bent and "higher quality", but I know what sounds goo and I know what sound I am after.
