Stickers

What's you folks' feeling on stickers? I want to do the comptech sway bar and aem intake but I know everyone gets their panties in a bunch when people put stickers in thier windows, side skirts etc... but then again if you have the part installed for real have you "earned" the right to sticker up your car? We've all seen civic coupes with stickers for parts they can't possibly even have in the car but if the part is legit and improves the car, why not show it off a little eh?

I saw someone had the white AEM sticker in the rear small window, that looked pretty neat against the dark tint.

It can be tastefully done... some people just don't like decals, but whatever.

My bro has quite a few on his TL-S... but the reason I don't give him so much shit is because his decals are silver - and his car is silver. And they are mostly on the side skirt.

Nowadays though, lotsa decals = lotsa attention from the cops...

i think it takes away from the clean lines and luxury of the car.
I think one or two ok
those being 1.) a website forum..acurazine.com or/and 2.) your own personal website/company..www.artistontheloose.com or dec3designs.com

i think you can get away with a small logo on the back corner window too.
then again this is my $.02 and to each their own

I just ordered AEM intake from qualifiedjapaneseparts on ebay and the comptech sway bar from their web site... if these things come with stickers I might just have to find a place for em.

that's the other thing. I would sport a comptech sticker before the AEM because
comptech is more exclusive. You see a AEM sticker on every other modded show or street car( they don't need anymore publicity.haha)

Found a pic of his sideskirt.

They're only noticeable up close... if they were in a contrasting color, they'd look way too crowded and messy.

Not bad. I was gonna do maybe 1 or two stickers in the rear small windows, like white decals against my tints, but it might look bad. I'll see when I get the parts I guess. I definitely don't want a boy racer look to the car. I am also thinking of taking my caliper paint down a tone or two. It's bright now but a lil smurfy.

not into the stickers much.
i would probably consider them only if the companies actually paid me to do so.

Same here.

But my bro actually tracks his car, so I think it makes up for all the decals.

BTW, notice how difficult it is to make out the decals in this pic.

agreed

i also agree with ndx2 on they can be tastefully done. i think on some cars, stickers can even look decent and make it sporty looking. for instance. the Injen sticker is nice and it fits right in the rear window where the dot matrix is...i personally wouldn't do it, but ive seen it on cars and i wouldn't complain.

but as for comptech...i COMPLETELY agree with MEEK....comptech being so exclusive to HONDA/ACURA i would put a nice comptech sticker going across the rear windsheild at the bottom which can look very tasteful if positioned right

i would say no with stickers..............reason being, if you think about it..........all of those people out there who like to to, you know, steal cars, would probably be more apt to doing so if your car has all kinds of aftermarket upgrades..............i just got my AEM CAI installed and it came with two silver stickers........i do think that the stickers on the back side windows (small one) looks pretty clean, but then again, i think about what i stated above............

It is a known fact that failure to display the AEM decals and the supplied plate frame will result in 7% less increase in power . . . Hell, the "Outlaw Engineering" decal (when properly installed) will drop your intake manifuld plenum temperature 3 deg. F.

The NICB® has compiled a list of the 10 vehicles most frequently reported stolen in the U.S. in 2003. That top 10 includes:

1. 2000 Honda Civic
2. 1989 Toyota Camry
3. 1991 Honda Accord <<-- after a dozen years even Hondas need parts
4. 1994 Chevrolet Full Size
C/K 1500 Pickup
5. 1994 Dodge Caravan

It does not seem that "modified/altered" or high performance cars ever make the list-- the vast majority of car thefts are for parts-- STOCK parts for COMMON cars.

If anything a bunch of decals might deter a real pro . . . Certinly an immature amature might think more about it . . . . after all, you did.
