i got a comptech ss and i put a razo 400g carbon on there. the shift knob has nylon inserts that thread itself to the shifter threads. i screwed it way down so its low. like the voodoo ones.

dangles. but i don't care, it's so low, the boot clip floats right below the knob. in fact most of the time, it contacts the bottom of the knob.

the skunk2 looks just like the Ichibahn that I had on my Camaro. I had it countersunk as well. I loved how it was small and easier to grip like with 2 fingers. If I still had a manual, I would use no other knob. In fact when my car was broken into they stole the knob and I re-ordered the same one, awesome!!!

Shortening the shifter is actually a lot easier than everyone seems to think... I did this to my dad's TL-S and I will likely be doing it to mine as well.

Ok, so if you have ever seen a momo shift knob then you know that there are no threads... its just a hole that goes all the way into the hollow ball knob. So, you can slide it as far down the shift pole as it goes (Being careful not to mess with the integrity of the shifting... someone mentioned it above... if you make it too low then the shifting wont be smooth). Ok, so now you tighten the momo knob with the included screw down parts... I don't know how to describe tem.

Lastly... you have your silver ring piece... it is too small to fit over the momo threading correctly so I used a dremel tool to route out the plastic on the inside of the silver ring until it fit very tightly all the way around the momo threads... it looks sweet.

I'll have to take some pictures and post them up next time I am over at my parents place... but this will accomplish your shorter shift knob.

Like someone said above, the Momo knob doesnt use threads, so you can essentially push the knob as far down as it will go and it shortens the height of the shifter considerably without cutting...

Basically, the stock shifter's threads stop about half way up the knob whereas the Momo sphere's are hollowed out almost all the way to the top.

Anyway, it definitely shortens the height, but it doesn't do anything for the throws.

here's my pic...

Hey Guys, Just and FYI for keeping the shift Boot up...
After I spun my knob(lol) all the way down I took some duct tape(best thing on earth) cut it in half inch wide stands and wrapped it around the shifer right under the knob. Every few wraps I tested bringing the boot up wiggiling it around till I got the perfect fit. Try it!
Worked wonders, and I know everyone here owns a roll of Duct Tape!

Good Luck!

Looks Good Evan!

Talking Apologies: To those who have shifters and are now jealous of mine

Haha, srry I'm just joking! .. So its a Brushed Titanium shift knob. Its much heavier than stock, but feels 1000x better. Shifting feels like race car while smooth also. And it matches very well with the aluminum trimming. Only thing is that I have to bring it inside with me in the winter time, it gets f'n cooold!

As for the leather boot, I bought this rubber thing from home depot for $3. I had no idea what I was looking for, but knew what would work when I found it. So I found this drain thingy in the plumbing section, cut it down a bit, then pulled out my sharpie.

NightFox, I'll let you try it out sometime.
