Short throw shifter for 6 speed tl?

I am getting a new tl in the next couple days, and was wondering if there is a short shifter available for it? If there are a couple, what is the most liked one?
Thanks,
Mike

There is currently only one short shifter. Comptech makes it. www.comptechusa.com

If you search, you can find plenty of reviews on it.

I've got the short throw shifter, but it's sitting in my room at the moment. Waiting for another reason to take apart the console. Man, those aluminum trim pieces are fragile....easy to bend. I figure when I add the USB Hub in my console (for the carPC) I'll put the short shift kit on at the same time...not sure if anyone else has added this yet

Are people finding this to be worth the effort then? Any impressions of the changes?

I think the first one has the most varied responses.

I installed mine a month ago and love it. Plain and simple it just feels way cooler. Not that hard to install after you get aluminum strips off and I can help you with that I took a bunch of pics of them so I can show you where the 2 Bitch clips are at the top and how to get them off. The rest is just screws and clips.

I'd like to see the proper way to get those bitch clips out....I dunno how the hell I got em out when I put the carPC in, but I did without breaking them. I'd like to know the proper procedure for the next go-round (short shifter install). Thanks, Alan

Well I wouldn't call it the proper way. I used a butter knife and pulled slowly. But I have pics to show exactly where the two clips are so you should be able to slide the knife in and find the clip, and then push on it to help it release. Once I had the driver side off and knew exactly where the clips were and how far in from the edge they were the passenger side popped right off. I started from the back of the car and worked to the top. The hard part is they feel like their going to snap on you the whole time. Just use constant pressure the whole time and pull straight up. And keep telling yourself you know what you’re doing when anyone asks what the hell are you doing that’s a new car.
