The feel is so much better....like ttliang said above "CRISP" and Notchy. You can here it click as you shift into each gear because of the add on part from CT. I love the new way it feels. I've had short shifters in all of my other cars and its a great improvement and feel. You will have to get use to it though if you have never used one before. Sometimes you will wonder wether you are in gear or not.

I would have taken pictures, but like stated above, I was cussing up a storm and sweating my a@@ off, not to mention my fingers were sore and cut up a little afterwards. No Regret here!!!

Installing a Acura Wood Shifter

Does anyone know step by step instructions on how to install a new shifter in a newer tl? I read the post below, but I don't know if I should do it without more specific details.

You will need a firm hand to shift- the lever is shorter, so it requires more force, But the feeling of presicion is imroved a lot. "Click-click" factor, if you wish

I thought the directions from CT were great! I just decided that you didn't need to remover the glove box to do the install. I must admit, I took 2 days to do the install. One day to remove the trim, and the other to install the short shifter. All in all I think this mod ranks up there with the CT swaybar for ease of install and bang for the buck.

I meant that leverage is shorter, producing short throughs requiring more force.

Here is a link to the Comptech Short Shifter Groupbuy

It will actually be $55 shipped, but that price will include Paypal fees too. I just need the few extra dollars to buy padded envelopes to ship them in.

OK.. so I got home early and did the install... I just finished... Lets just say this.... as I test drove it down the street, shifting from first to second, my jaw fell to the floorboard and my comment was "Holy sheet. Are you fawking serious?"

No kidding... best $40 I have EVER spent on this car.....

I will do my write up (I have 30+ pics) this weekend and get it up for people so they can install.....

where u get for $40?

isn't this thing great? at least cuts 1/2 sec. not all about time. this is how it should shift imo.

You said it.... it actually feels like it cut out alot more than just 33% or whatever... it is seriously substantially shorter....

I got it for $40 +shipping (actually i think it was maybe $41.50... I will never round down again... ) on Ebay but I do not remember if it was Lynwood Acura or Escondido Acura...
