just pre-ordered and this is my first mod on my recently purchased 07 Type-S.
How much gains do you think the AEM CAI will give on top of this j-pipe? I want to keep the stock cat-back and pre-cats. Looking for most bang for my buck.
thanks, mike yeh

Wow, nice pipe! This is gonna send ATLP back to the drawing boards, lol!
Just a couple questions......Is it VERY certain that removing the cat is NOT going to affect emissions? I don't want to deal with a hassle later!
My ATLP quads are right at the limit of drone I want to take. I don't want anymore. This will not affect drone right (I am sure you will tell me that the mid-muffler/resonator has more to do with that than a J-pipe)
Lastly what about rasp? I don't mind if the exhaust is a bit louder and throaty, I want that. Just don't want that sickly rasp sound! I want to keep it mellow, deep, throaty.
And of course get all the power I can get!

1. This won't affect emissions at all. I passed my emissions test with flying colors without a 3rd cat. Shit, some people pass running catless! How does your state do the testing?
2. J-pipes typically do not adding drone, from my experience. Someone else could chime in but I'm 95% sure what I said is true.
3. No rasp son!! Rasp will come from PCDs and/or a "shitty" catback. You will be safe with just this. Add your ATLP and I can't say since I haven't owned on. I'm sure there are a lot of users on here that can help you out with this question.

All the flanges are now welded on the inside and ported down for maximum flow.

No more clearance issues with the precat nuts.

also for passing, depends on how good the car is running to begin with, cause a really good running car, does not really need that extra cat (i passed a sniffer test here in colorado, with my old 94 accord with a gutted cat, still pass easily, but still started to puch the limits though, and they tightened up the limits like a year ago, so idk if it would pass now
drone, kinda depends on the exact design and such for if it adds drone or not (like a thin walled pipe, has a higher chance and such with drone, but richie's did seem quite heavy when i installed a v2 for someone, so thicker walls
and it will add some also, cause you are completely removeing that 3rd cat, which also acts as a muffler in a way from causing some resistence and such)
rasp no idea if it would or not, but again depends on the exact design and such, but probably will sound higher pitched some, but not much, again i would say higher velocity exhauset flow also help cause that sound too

yeah more then likely not enough to fail emissions, but still the possibility though
and don't forget about if they also do a visual inspection too, depending on how much the inspecter knows and such, people might be failed just for that also
and drone, from a j-pipe itself, no; but you are also removing the cat too which will add some drone, should't be much though, but still will add though
and rasp, as said depends on exact design and such

but yes the stock exhaust does a pretty job job of controlling rasp and such, but there is still the possibility though for some
and then drone, louder exhaust kinda equals drone some, how much, hard to tell, but can't be surprised though if it does show up some though

Guys I have never known a jpipe to cause rasp only PCDs with some exhausts. Adding this jpipe will give you nothing but a sexy exhaust tone.
First lot going out tomorrow if the boxes get here in time.
![](http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b36/Richiev6/IMG_7106.jpg)
14 point jig inspection. Nothing leaves here without being checked by me.

Yes, high flow precats are in the works. We are taking the time to do it properly. Top secret........

Nice! Not sure if it's worth swapping out my current J-Pipe & 3rd Cat, but maybe one day.

How long do you think the $450 pricing will last? I like this pipe alot and I want to know if I'll have enough time to save up.
Also to those worried about emissions. I am assuming you're not worried about how this is going to harm the environment. Just worried about passing the emmisions test at inspection time. So I'm assuming you'll keep the stock pipe and cat seeing as how everyone of us already have one. So go get your car inspected with the V3 on. If it doesn't get passed then go home, throw the stock stuff on real quick, get passed, go home and throw the V3 back on. Good for another 1-2 years depending on inspection frequency according to state law.

When doing a state inspection for emissions, is it standard for them to do a visual inspection of the undercarriage for Cats? Why would they look under the car?

WOW richie mad props those pictures looks amazing!!! since im worried about the smell more then noise and after reading about the top secret high flow PCD's im sold with buying the V3.
So having a custom 3' catback with one resonator and adding your V3 now and awaiting for your high flow pcds wont make my car smell bad even with the windows down or up?
