IMO even if they do a visual inspection what they are looking for is the infamous 12-14" piece of strait pipe inconspicuosly bolted between the j-pipe and the rest of the exhaust. With the v3 it looks like the car never had a 3rd cat. Like it's just a replacement j-pipe. Period. Of course they might have something on their computer that tells them there are supposed to be 3 cats. Of this I am not sure.

Na man. Even with the 3" catback and this V3 Jpipe your exhaust will not smell.
The only way your exhaust will smell is if you are completely catless. The 3rd cat (where the catback connects) is hardly a cat at all. The primary cats are under the hood connected to the exhaust manifold. Unless you get the PC Deletes, your car will not smell.
Despite the slight rasp I get, catless makes the car sound so much meaner...almost sounds worked.

How long do you think the $450 pricing will last? I like this pipe alot and I want to know if I'll have enough time to save up.
Also to those worried about emissions. I am assuming you're not worried about how this is going to harm the environment. Just worried about passing the emmisions test at inspection time. So I'm assuming you'll keep the stock pipe and cat seeing as how everyone of us already have one. So go get your car inspected with the V3 on. If it doesn't get passed then go home, throw the stock stuff on real quick, get passed, go home and throw the V3 back on. Good for another 1-2 years depending on inspection frequency according to state law.

so you be better putting the stock setup back on first, then passing, and changing it back afterwards

but yeah not so likely though, if you still got the main cats on there

People concerned with the smell: It only comes after you install pre-cats, but it's such a wonderful smell!! Why would anyone want to get rid of it you know the car means business after you start it up!
Sonnick, fully catless makes my car sound mean as fak lol especially top of 3rd and 4th gears! Very very loud too lol
Anyways people, get the V3 J-pipe, throw some pre-cat deletes in there and you'll have the biggest smile on your face!

In pursuant to our conversation last night I hope you are going to keep one aside for me before you run out of them. These bad boys will sell like hot cakes
To be 100% honest, even when I was running catless, my car didn't smell that bad... only on cold startups. Maybe somethings wrong with my olfactory system.

it is to make sure you have a cat on your car.i have atlp race pipe but the inspectors dont know that because mike at atlp was smart, and had holes fabricated for the factory cat heat shield to bolt over it,hiding the race pipe. very clever. looks just like the cat is there.

ZOMG. Haha u can def feel the difference. Low end torque is much more present. Exhaust note is a bit louder and more aggressive. Overall driving experience has improved. I'm very happy with richie's work.
Ground clearance isn't an issue either and I'm probably lower than most in this thread.
If ur holding out for something better, don't. I don't see any major tweaks to this design that can be done to improve performance.
If ur complaining about price, all I can say is that it's worth every penny. This is a thoroughly researched design, fabricated out of stainless steel. FitmenT is also spot on.
I opted to dremel part of my splash shield off. Will post pics and vids soon.

Which Jpipe did you have previously? The only thing that is straying me away from this Jpipe is my 3" exhaust...I'd want to do a 3" collector from the Jpipe instead of 2.5. Other than that, this Jpipe seems to be the sh!t!

You can get a 3x2.5 concentric reducer, flange it, chop a portion off your current 3" exhaust and call it a day. Not sure how that reducer would affect performance etc but its a cheap solution.

^ None at all. I'd like to add this though. When it was FIRST installed, there was a TINY bit of rasp while everything was settling. This went away after load was introduced to the engine. Don't worry about this and don't bitch about it because it doesn't last long.
So my drive to work thru stop and go traffic was actually fun today although I probably burned thru 50% more gas. The car definitely pulls much harder! It kind of reminds me of how PCD's affect the car, with respect to sound and pull @ 3rd gear WOT... but for the lower end of the power band.
I have never ran the ATLP or the XLR8 j-pipes but I know this is a HUGE improvement over RV6's previous j-pipes + 3rd cat delete combos.
To those guys out there that are worried about the removal of the 3rd cat... I'm willing to bet good money that the majority of people with 3G TL's that have modified exhausts are running without the stock 3rd cat or a HFC. The primary cats (precats) are sufficient.
I cannot wait to find a nice stretch of GOOD road so I can really drive my car without dodging potholes and dips.

If you have the OEM Jpipe this is a MUST-GET. If JM is saying how good the gains were over the V1 (which is what I have), I can only imagine over stock.
Hmm...what's a reducer? Oh, I don't have the 3" exhaust yet. I'm still waiting on the Magnaflow 12762. It's been on backorder for like 2 weeks already, ugh.
