the ATLP is stainless steel if I'm not mistaken, which shouldn't rust really. It might turn darker, but not rust...

it will oxidize but it will not rust..., the areas that may rust is at the welds, which can easily be replaced

it can rust, it depends on the grade of steel and if it sees a lot of salt

You mean replace welds, too much of a hassle. And have you ever tried to grind down welds on stainless will probably look worse than it did with just a little rust. If the exhaust is stainless then the welds are TIG welded with stainless to and should not rust anyways. might be better to possibly/maybe paint the welds.

Weird, I have the first batch ATLP and they still look like new. I always wipe the pipes with a wet towel when i wash my car.

Yes, it's stainless steel, as well as stainless feed for the welds, and the exhaust system is also coated in a layer to further prevent rust. Little dark spots (cancer spots) are normal, with any stainless exhaust, but they shouldn't be a concern.

actually what I ment is that would be the problem area, but that would be overtime... say 3-5 years and not from water or snow, but like mentioned above the chemicals in the de-icer many winterish states use

Calcium chloride That stuff is caustic and eats through anything over time ... hate that shit The WA State DOT sprays it around like they're giving it away ALL winter long and it does a real number on all the billet aluminum and stainless on my truck.

Well I live in Cali so don't really worry bout snow ice. But so far this is one of the best exhaust systems from what I read on A-zine. Going to meet up with a member tomorrow to see what one sounds in person and interior. So Mike from ATLP you should be hearing from me again soon with a call for my order. Dam heading out your way tomorrow might even call you on my way back and pick it up then and do a weekend install.
