If you leave the IAT sensor in the stock location, you will get a little less power (1-2 HP) and use less fuel. If you move it lower you will get 1-2 HP more, but loose about 1MPG.

You want the IAT to sense the temperature that is actually entering your manifold. If you are putting it somewhere to fool the computer into thinking it's different, you are defeating the purpose of the ECU.

The ideal place would be to drill into the top of the filter and catch the air that's flying into the intake. Got it?

....Then why would you put the IAT at the filter when it's already got a spot in the entrance to the manifold.

best thing for your motor, put it in the stock location and be done. That guarantee's the ECU is doing it's job properly and you are not fooling it.

I hesitated on relocating the IAT when I installed my AEM V1, but the "FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY!" label preceeding the mod made me research it. Couple years back the threads that developed were moot...not really worth it. I went went the fact that usually when you try to trick the TL ECU comes back to bite you.
