They do increase the vibration a noticeable amount over the OEM mounts. My driver side side-view mirror vibrates at a stop especially with the climate control activated, but the vibration isn't noticeable any other time. It's definitely a subjective assessment of the mounts. I don't mind it myself. Idk about my gf though...

Hmmm. I feel like my mirror vibrating would bug me lol. Plus with my wife and baby in the car it might be too much for them.
Min leaning on doing the oem rear and innovative front/side

So a member of a locat TL page posted up a video of her TL with all innovatives all around with 75a inserts. And omg the vibrations seemed ridiculous. Not something I can deal with daily

didnt even think of asking but does someone have the 2 innovatives and rear oem, and can post up a video from inside the car, idling after warmed up?
thatd probably help put a lot of this stuff to rest

I have the 85A rear mount and my car doesn't vibrate horrible. Neither sitting at stop lights or on the road. A low idle RPM could cause it to vibrate more.

He folks, I was wondering what your thoughts are on installing only the right side innovative mount. Will it break? I just want a bit of solidness, and I cannot replace any of the other two anyways. Only street driving. The front and rear are new mounts, but I still feel the engine flexing and slapping back when I am smashing gears. I want to to get the torque damper, but its out of stock everywhere, so I am thinking the poly side mount would do similar work.

Have you tried the aftermarket damper from xlr8? I just ordered one Tuesday and it’s supposed to be here within the week

I have a 2004 accord v6 6mt, will that fit? I do not see that damper listed for my car on their website.

Ah gotcha. I’m not 100% if it would fit or not. Some v6 accords share parts but you would have to contact xlr8 for further clarification.

But to actually answer your question, even if you only run 1 innovative mount you’d probably be fine

Yeah I am thinking the same. And if I really enjoy it I will get the front one also and call it a day. The right side one is original, never replaced, so might as well go all out with the poly.

I pulled the trigger on the full set of 60a. But I also have the torque dampener coming too. So I’ll be finding out soon enough

So I’ve got my mounts, but there is no paperwork or instructions for them.
Anyone know the torque specs( or is it just the respective specs for the oem bolts)? Or have any tips or steps to install these as they’re orientation is a bit different than stock?

Where did you get the mounts from? Did you get all 3?
What if you look up torque specs for the OEM mounts, and then add a couple of pounds to that.

I got mine from Innovative mounts website, I bought all three.

I utilized the Guttenteit technique. I hear it’s what all german cars use..

Is that similar to the Guttenteit lipped technique regarding updates on the performance of your 'tuned' Rotrex black stallion TL?

I installed the 60a
after they settle in, they’re fine. Obviously hear/feel a little more. I wasn’t a fan at first at all but they’ve settled. I still hate when the a/c is on though. Pisses me off lol

but the car drives awesome. Makes you want to drive it hard since it holds up so well

I waited 3 years for them to fully "break in". They never broke in. The vibration is very extreme, and especially noticeable in the summer. I can hear my car shaking/rattling in drive throughs and my dash cam vibrates like crazy when I watch the videos. The effect is most noticeable with the transmission in drive, and stopped at a red light with the a/c on. Everytime I visit a mechanic shop for some small reason they always give me shit for having these mounts because the car doesn't idle right.

With that being said the car drives pretty freaking good with them and I (supposedly) don't have to ever replace them.

Last year I changed the rear mount out with OEM and the ride now has the luxury feel again. The other 2 are still the innovative mounts. If you want to get the mounts don't be like me and wait for them to break in. Just install the front and side ones.
I got the 60a mounts as well in 2016. Garbage. My 05 TL is in the shop right now because they're all shot. The engine was bouncing around in the bay. Going back to OEM.

Companies that make engine mounts using urethane should be embarrassed for making/selling crap.
The only reason they use urethane is because it's cheap and easy. It's not an isolation material.

You will never find OEM mounts made from urethane. OEM engine mounts are ALWAYS made with rubber.
Rubber can be formulated to be soft or hard. There is one company that I know of that makes rubber
engine mounts for performance applications. Vibra-Technics.

They don't currently offer Honda/Acura V6 mounts, but they might. The below mounts were designed by me
using the Vibra-Technics TSX/Accord rubber components and extrusions.

In the process of getting my timing belt/water pump done last week I discovered that the side mount is shot. So this project is up next. I'm admittedly ignorant about motor mounts & no nothing, other than what I've read in the threads here. This car is my daily driver (& I'm old!), so the idea of mirrors vibrating like crazy & other ride quality degradation I think means that going 75A or 85A is out. (The higher the number the stiffer/ harsher the mount, correct?) But. If I can squeeze a bit of performance improvement out, well, that's never a bad thing. From what I've read I gather I want 60A front & side, OEM rear; make sure they're rubber not urethane. But I'd welcome any thoughts, advice or inputs.
thx

oem is still probably the best route for your application. if you do want to change, get 75 not 60, minimal vibration difference but 75 will last much longer

Thanks, man. I don't mind a little bit more vib and noticeable change, I deem it an acceptable exchange for some improvement in function. So I had it backwards? Lower number = more stiffness? I may just go ahead and get 75 front & side, OEM rear then. Or are the rears basically 75 anyway, in which case there's no point? Are these Innovative's the way to go? Seems to be some differing views, but then again this thread was originated in 2012, so I'm guessing designs & materials, + other competitors in the space have changed things some.

I really appreciate your time.

75 is stiffer. i said go 75 because 60 tends to break more than 75 and the difference in vibration going from 60 to 75 is negligible. so think of it this way, if they have the same vibration do you want the one that fails more or less?

innovative is your only option right now. xlr8 is discontinued.

Got it. Makes sense. So think I'll just go 75 all the way around, or 75 front/side and OEM rear - since that one seems to be the vibration linchpin. Heeltoe calls the 60 "street", 75 "track", 85 "race", and 95 "Extreme". Clever. I find them here:

These Innovatives are urethane (& the guy seems to know what he's talking about.)

well you only have 2 choices, that or oem. do not, i repeat, do not go all 3 aftermarket if you are trying to minimize vibrations

Good point. Front & side, Innovative 75A; rear OEM. Done.
I get a SKU = 50610-SDB-A01. About $85 thru Acrua.

Drat. I like my SKU (and price) a lot more.
Is this the set up you're running, ...Innovative 75A front/side, OEM rear?

Got it. But XLR8 no longer makes them so its Innovative, OEM or bust, huh? Too bad, I have the XLR8 j-pipe and was pleased with the price, build quality & performance its delivered, so they're a manufacturer that's on the good side of my promise/deliver ledger..

OEM side motor mount

I find myself in possession of an OEM motor mount that I cannot use. (Like an idiot) I didn't realize there was a difference between the parts for an automatic vs. manual tranny (50810-SEP-A04 vs. 50810-SEP-A12) and accidentally bought the wrong one. To add insult to injury, the vendor will neither take it back nor exchange. So I'm stuck with a 50810-SEP-A04 that I've no earthly use for. I just posted it on the Black Market: https://acurazine.com/forums/market/987268.

Sorry if this is a frowned upon practice (mentioning for sale items in non-black market threads), if so, Mods please feel free to let me know. I'm just so p.o.'d over this whole episode that I want this thing gone & the bad taste rinsed out of my mouth asap.

I don't do my own wrench work but my mech tried and says the bolt holes don't line up, it can't be installed.

Speaking of innovative.

Did they ever fix the passenger side mount issue?

Where it sits much too low and washers/nuts are needed to prop it back up?
