Id rather stick to UR, I know they calibrate and test the equip... thats a plus... ive never heard of the other company....therefore i dont trust it.... ebay is a bad way for people to get scammed and you really dont know what your getting....i know UR uses the best aluminum for this application and theres really no deviation in quality... the only deviation the can get away with, is a small blemish that wont hurt the quality or performance of the pulley and nothing else.

thats what I was thinking^ I just wanted to see if it would be worth the extra $40 to get ur. but I guess it would be since I've never heard of anybody having any problems with them!
oh and thanks for the reply tripnbeats

lol they didnt bother to change the last part x_X
You will defiantly see a gain with this mod.
15+ Horsepower Gains!"
eh seems a bit sketchy imo. maybe to the other cars listed but i dont think its that drastic of a gain for our cars xP

dude ur freeing up a lot of weight on rotation... anyone whos done the mod can tell u....the stock pulley is around 25-30 lbs or a lil more and the UR one weighs like not even a pound....ur freeing up 10hp trust me.....but after the computer picks up the crank position sensor moving faster then it slows it down and the hp balances and probably lowers but the initial power before the computer adjusts is crazy.
and greco u wanna tell me what the difference between freeing up and adding Hp is?! same shit as adding a CAI its freeing up HP or an exhaust its freeing up HP.......precat deletes freeing up HP....ADDING FREEING (synonyms) thanks

Adding power - when more air/fuel are introduced into the cylinder thus creating/adding more power (this can be done by opening up the intake or exhaust side).
As for the computer adjusting for crank position due to weight. I have to disagree. Computer will adjust time for air/fuel mixtures and retard or advance timing based on that. It will also adjust your idle due to the faster rev on start up. But it will not decrease the amount of power produced due to a lighter weight pulley being on it. The computer could care less.
It would only adjust the timing if began to knock. Crank position is not going to change in regards to cam timing, thus the computer does not care that it revs faster.
As for not feeling the power anymore, that is because you get used to it, not the car adjusting for it. This can be seen in the fuel economy. I have had mine on the car for about a month and I put 60+ miles a day on the car. My mpg has gone up 2-3 mpg and has remained there.
I hope this answers some of the questions.

i dunno man...im saying what the tech said at acura who installed it.... he said the cps will adjust and the sensors will pick up on everything...because the tps has to be at a certain position through out the power band..... so if the load on the tps is10 % and the cranks spinning too quick it'll retard accordingly.

The stock crank pulley (crank pulley only, not the full set) weighs ~9 lbs; the UR Stock sized pulley weighs ~1 lb.
Still a BIG difference in rotational mass. BIG difference. I'd kill to get that kind of weight savings on wheels.
Pulley and J-pipe are probably the two most easily noticable mods I've done to the car.

Guys;
the only one listed on their website is the underdrive sized one. Where do I get a stock sized pulley and what is the part#?

UR is made from (iirc) Billet Aluminium - light & strong.
OE is made from cast iron/steel - heavy & strong.
Check with Josh at www.excelerateperformance.com or "Excelerate" via PM for availability and cost.

I just spoke to someone at Unorthodox Racing. He said they no longer make the stock sized pulley for the TL but you can get it from Excelerate and others. The part # is 020611412.
Excelerate website has it listed for the RL but has the undersized one for the TL. Weird?
I called my Acura dealer and asked if they could install it. They said they could but it would void the warranty to anything that is powered off that pulley system (ie. HVAC, stereo, etc).
I once modded my exhaust on my Alero and my dealer did the same crap to me afterwards and wouldn't fix stuff that clearly wasn't exhaust related.
I have 2 options at this point:
1. have a non Acura mechanic do this mod for me and hope Acura never notices
2. wait till my warranty is up in 2 years

Don't get that ebay one. It looks cheap. Think about it, it's an engine component. Go with the UR one, it is tried and tested and I have never heard 1 complaint. High quality just for a lil more.

Say it isn't so!!

With a lift, air tools (for lugs, etc), the OE PUlley removal tool, etc - 1 hour. Tops.
If it were a warranty replacement (OE for OE) I doubt corporate would give 'em more than 30 minutes flat rate.

Yes, it is the "main" aka crankshaft pulley.
From my understanding, you just need the following 3 items:
1. Lift (goes without saying)
2. 3/4in Impact Gun to remove lugs
3. Torque Wrench to put the new pully back on
As long as any mechanic has these 3 items at their disposal and follows the supplied instructions that comes with the pulley, it should be fine.
Please correct me if I am mistaken. thx.

Tools: MUST have the Honda Crankshaft Pulley Removal Tool; otherwise find somewhere else ().
Read this thread for a "How To". That way you'll know if you mechanic is blowing smoke up your skirt.

There are a few in Charlotte. HondaWorks seems to be the one most referenced. There is also one on South Blvd around Woodlawn; next to Buffalo Tire.
I haven't used either, since I never have enough money for parts AND installation.

It fits the TL 04-08 (ALL) and RL and MDX. We will probably be the only dealer carrying these in a few months once everyone else has sold off their inventory.
