Progress RSB and Outlaw Thermo block installed
#3
I installed them on my 03' V6 Accord this weekend and actually noticed a nice difference. When first starting out, everything feels normal... but when accelerating from a stoplight (or something else that could have heatsoaked the intake manifold) the power does not have the sluggish feeling that is a result of ingesting hot air. IMHO its a worthwhile upgrade for 100 bucks and an hour of my time for install.

When did you get the swaybar? I've been waiting for a couple months now for one to ship to me.
Did you notice the difference? Do you have a 6MT or 5AT?
I've got the thermoblok's in already and noticed smoother throttle response and maybe a little performance increase, but it's not mind blowing.

I had it order at one of a local shop here in L.A. I have to wait for 3 weeks also because of back order. I had the sway bar setting at hard because i want a little bit of over steer. I have a 5AT

the kit includes a throttle body spacer and gaskets plus 1 spacer for the entire intake plus gasket. Even includes the longer bolts you need to install in a couple of places
Torque is very important on this job
Any shop you ask to do this should have done it before and be able to tell you what they charge.
Dont be the test car for any shop!

hey raymond.
for the spacer on the throttle body though ... how did you get those two top bolts out? It requires a reverse torque from the bolt's movement doesn't it? I can't even get those off @____@ any help would be appreciated

thread two nuts onto the stud and then back one of the nuts off until it jams against the other nut, then you can unthread the stud from the manifold.

i'm thinking about getting the spacers. do the same ones that fit the 04-06 fit the 07 type-s. what kind of throttle respnse do you get from them? I know you won't get much power from them, i'm more interested in smoother excelleration. by the way mine is a 5at.

from what I hear there is a noticeable difference in throttle response which is pretty much all I'm asking for haha (i think you meant acceleration haha) I'm not entirely too sure about the type-s's though ... might be a different case ...

Its a 1/4 " thick spacer made of a special material that resist heat transfer thru itself
It goes between the top of the engine and the intake manifold, keeping heat from the engine from radiating into- and heat soaking- the manifolds inlet air temp.
See makers website www.outlawengineering.com for tech details
On PINKS tv show, you see guys using bags of ice on the manifold between runs to reduce that same heat soak. Colder air is denser and burns better= more power
Acurazine vendor Excelerate sells them, and a new type just for the Typs S motors.
Similar idea with different materials.
Both will move the torque band slightly to the left- giving a feel of harder pull when on the throttle hard
