that's a kinda personal question don't ya think?

it felt as if i gained power throughout the entire rpm band. i'm gonna go to my friends shop and dyno my car and see what my numbers are. i didn't do a preinstallation dyno run, so i can't do comparisons.

....slept on another mod again...

It took me like 3 hours to read through all this! just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I dont think I would do this mod since I live in Cali. I might just get Richie's resonated test pipe. Already have AR25 but the slightly reduced drone still annoyes me from time to time when I'm in the mood for some P&Q. Can't wait to see some numbers from ya, Black!

As for 335 encounters; I'm ashamed to say I too, fell victim. this one, however, was a coupe, tricked out for sure! it was slammed with an exhaust and I think it had a CF hood....so probably vishnu'ed or something. it was off a green light, he had me from the launch and nimbly got ahead by like 2 or 3car lenghts (yeah, I can't launch the TL to save my life), but towards the mid range of 2nd gear, the gap stopped spreading. we both slowed at around 60, since it was a busy area in mid day. To twist the knife, he had two people onborad and I had myself and two boogie boards (they're heavy...right?). Afterwards they just slowed down and tossed over some wicked-ass grins. I felt stupid....but back then I had NO IDEA what these deutchland-destroyers were capable of.
I get the best pull at the top end of 2nd gear (never got there). IMO, any short sprint to like 50 or 60 is a lost cause with this car, even w/S'C. it's gotta be up to 80 or 100mph in order to demonstrate some huevos. i think on the highway I would put up a fight and maybe win...unless it's crazy-chipped.

We'll keep fighting!!!!!

strangely I agree...2 stoke dirtbike smell is awesome. Now I have more incentive to buy these.

i skipped from page 3 to freaking page 16 because i didn't want to read all the freaking pages. i was considering getting the pre-cats, along with the jpipe and test pipe.
what's the freaking outcome? no cels or codes? all three give you 20 hp?! i thought it was JUST the precats that yielded 20?

You can't add the hp methematically

Jpipe gives a nice torque bump, 3rd cat delete yields a couple hp, and precats yield mad power

The outcome is go all 3 or 2/3 and you will gain through out the entire powerband

Imo all 3 is ftmfw

If you like the smell already, put a couple gallons of racegas since you have no cats and only primary 02s. You will love the smell. When I used to pull into Sonic on Saturdays to go racing, people would look up before I even got to them if the wind was blowing their direction, even got comments as I was driving by about "being here to race".

Haha I've been reading this thread for the past couple hours on and off and I find it funny that you were saying that you'd never run catless.

so when are the dyno's coming? September is almost over; I remember someone saying they would dyno before that. I'm still hesitant if I should get these due to the smell and sound. I remember someone saying they had a rattling sound to them instead of a deep sound.

I'll post a dyno soon. I purchased the pre-cats and j-pipe from richie but something with the quality of the current stock was no bueno. as soon as the new pipes come in, ill install them with my hondata reflash. My dyno will consist of, 04 6mt, S/C, CAI, pre-cat deletes, j-pipe, and Greddy evo2's.
From all I've read, I'm hoping for ~350 whp. I'll know soon. Post sheets the same day.

Out of curiosity, why do you think it's running rich? The computer only uses the wideband 02 before the cats. Richer is safer I guess.

so removing the 3rd is the hardest? Do the precats just slip on out/slip in the deletes or do you have to remove a fair amount of stuff?

i love my pre-cats... about 3-4k miles, no CELs at all...

the rattling, is ONLY on my first WOT, then its gone until the car gets cold again... its not that bad either

I will be installing some type of 3rd cat solution this month, and re-dyno'ing soon... im hoping to yield high 280's .. good enough for me!

Richie already has a resonated jpipe, and he also has a hiflow 3rd cat

I was saying I can make a resonator using an aero resonator and a richie race pipe, $50 for resonator, $65 for the race pipe, few more bucks for the custom weld
