P2R Problem? Fixable???

I just recently added the P2R throttle spacer & gaskets. My car now knocks and runs super rich causing a CEL. Anything I can do to correct this without removing the throttle spacer & gaskets?

Also, I have the R-V6 pre-cat deletes, test pipe, j-pipe, custom 2.5" exhaust system, UR underdrive pulley, & AEM cai.

Never had any problems with a CEL, running rich, and knocks until installing the P2R spacer & gaskets.

Suggestions???

Wow thats insane. Tried resetting the ECU just to see if the ECU will compensate for it? Was it installed properly and everything hooked back up?

How do you know its rich, have you gotten a code yet? Usually rich condition wont cause pinging but a lean condition will. Have you checked for Vacuum leaks.

Sounds like you have a loose TPS sensor plug. I would check and make sure everything is good and snug. If problem arrays again. double check all wires around the area you were working on before the ping. Sounds like either TPS, or ground wire near the front cylinder head is loose this will cause a fault because there is a short in the pimary sending from engine to ecu!

^Spacer does it's job and this is not normal. Somethings not connected. You can't screw up cannon plugs on cars anymore - each plug is a different shape and size for one receptacle.

Do you have one? Have you seen one?

Do you know what you are talking about?

My car is full of P2R mods and they are all great.

P2R has helped me in more ways than I can say and have been great.

Unless you have a specific complaint that they did not rectify please don't bash.

As has been said check all your connections. Did you install the plug in the spacer? If not there is a big hole there.

I am a little surprised how loyal some are to vendors.

I think you may have trans cooler listed twice in your title block.

He made a derogatory post against a great vendor/fabricator.

I asked if he had any real experience with the product.

They have given me great products at fair prices with great support, why shouldn't I say so?

Trust me I am not shy to deride bad companies, ask anyone that knows me.

Perhaps I have two coolers?

It looks like you updated your title block and deleted one of the trans coolers?

If you don't mind me asking, how much do you feel you have invested in aftermarket products?

Not sure about this rich or lean thing...
But when you install the TBS/G it will create a CEL. After about 50km or so of driving it will go away.

make sure everything is plugged back in as mentioned above

I've installed the p2r spacer both on the intake mani and on the throttlebody

I've done the install on the following
stillhere153 (mine)
thewanderer616
jguerra23
paliknight
ssmtl2nv

and those are just to name a few...
I HAVE YET TO GET A CALL FROM ANY OF THESE MEMBERS SAYING THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED A CEL

I installed my TBS/G and AEM CAI together last year in march... I received a CEL that lasted like five minutes.
I recall, from back in the day, that this is normal when installing the spacer.
The CEL comes and goes. I recall other members having this 'issue'.

unplug your battery for 30min and plug it back in. Should reset the ecu, and take the cel away.

how about not resetting the light and reading the damn thing... stop telling people to clear the light this and that...

if there is a light get it read... ASAP

if you have nav pm me I will give you the directions for checking it on the nav... if you do not have nav drive over to autozone and get it read

Yeah...I've never had issues with the P2R. It has to be some with the install or something was not connected properly.

A random CEL is not normal and certainly not the norm in any P2R threads I browsed. Have both TBS and IM.

Stillhere, totally agree with reading codes before resetting. I vowed from day 1 with this car that I will not be comfortable with a CEL or any other yellow light flashing in the dash.

Everything was installed properly and I did plug the hole with the provided plug... nothing loose or disconnected. The car runs really good with no loss of power with the CEL. Still get the knocking sound tho..........

Have you checked the code? Maybe it is coincidental?
