yea my girl hates the cabin drone too, but honestly, this is starting to break in. drove another 100 miles today, its starting to calm done the higher pitched drone, and taking a deeper grumble. it really is bad ass... you have to hear it in person to understand

The packing material is fresh, so it is still very tightly wound when it comes from the factory. Give it some time to loosen up and allow more sound to pass through and diffuse.

Just got my ATLP exhaust and installed in on my 6sp Type S and really love the sound. IT definetly does drone a bit if you were to hit the gas in 6th gear at highway speed but if you are downshifing to accelerate its fine. Definetly a deep distinctive tone, the quality of the materials and fit are excellent for an aftermarket exhaust system. On the 6 speed depending how you drive the car you really dont notice it (again depending on how you drive) When your on the gas there is a deep agressive tone that closely resembles an e36 m3 with exhaust. I use my HFL daily for business and its fine. The exhaust really does have to be heard in person inside and outside the car to appreciate or not appreciate the sound. Personally I give it two thumbs up for the quality, close to stock look, and deep tone.

 

yea the tone is def. deep. i feel you with the M3 sound.. that deep growl.. however, i see M3's very often with rasp... i have none, i dont know about the 6spd

thats another thing too, the 5AT's drone more then the 6MTs.. so you would probably hear more drone with a 5AT

 

He's talking about the E36 M3, not the new ones. The older body M3's usually don't have the pronounced rasp that the new E46 M3's have.
