OBX Catless jpipe/Header and custom exhaust are finally done

Finally got time to put the OBX jpipe and and a new exhaust system today(dictched work for that) Took me about 4hour to take out stock exahust and cats and replace it with the header yesterday, than I drive my car with out anything to my fd muffler shop lucky didnt got pull over anyway here is some picture.

and here is the setup
1.OBX Jpipe from a 03-06(I got a used one so the guy already custom fit the piping already so if anyone want to get this part you will have to find a shop to custom fit it for you or get a used one)
2.o2 simulators used two Non foulers method here is the link http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=296791 NO engine check light on
3. something call IMCO or ICMO resonator
4. magnaflow magnapack or magnapax muffler X1 (the muffler look like a resonator and I ask my fd three time cause I don't believe him but on the box is shown is a muffler no a resonator so I have to believe him.
5.Electric Exhaust Cutout behind the muffler so that way I can lower the tone abit but I have to cut the butterfly valve a little so I will damage my motor.
6. 2 1/4 tips Quad dont want to get any bigger cause don't want to any tourble from the cops and I dont want to meld my bumper.
7.2.5 inch piping from the jpipe to the back(not Mandrel bend don't really care about the look cause is under the car anyway)

Performance.
Havent really take the car yet,the mid range of the car is alot different(better) and to everyone concern about the back pressure/low tq YES this thing lose some low tq but not alot i will give more update later after I got 500miles on this thing first.

Any finally here is some picture sorry for talking so much on the top and I will have some sound chip later tomorrow but dont expect the tone is nice tho.

enjoy

I was thinking of doing something like this myself but the O2 sensor thing bothered me...I'm anxious to see how yours goes. I wish Hondata could figure a way to delete them!

Since 2.5" catback lost power, then I'd say you may want to go lower. The jpipe lookinco is working on is 60mm which is the size many companies use, here in the US it is converted over to 2.25" rather than 2.5"... hopefully on the top end you gain some nice tq still n/a... forced induction guys probably get some awesome tq numbers from it...

That has got to be really loud. I can't imagine that there isn't a ton of drone and a higher pitched tingy note. Maybe I'm wrong but can you take a vid?

is this backyard modding? an outdoor lift and guys walking around with their shirts off?

lol, i'm jk.

but IMO the setup looks good, not professional quality, but for all purposes it serves its function. the electronic butterfly is a great idea to retain low end back pressure but its not exactly in an ideal spot. the new RL uses the same method.

i just noticed the j-pipe is almost touching your oil pan... this may be an issue down the road after excessive engine movement.

why no rear mufflers? that's probably why you can't feel any low end power!... unless you're s/c then idk. I'm surprised no one else noticed..

I'm afraid to hear a clip of this TL without any rear mufflers

If you're S/C then i take first half of this back....

Sound clips please. I still have my obx headers sitting in the garage. I remember you bought this off someone with an accord. Did that person modify it at all? Because I remember it had fitment issues...

Also, how is the smell? Extremely noticeable from a cops stand point, or only when they are really looking for it?

Btw, if you want some tips, I got a set that will look a lot better than those for that bumper...PM me...please lol.

Man, I just don't dig going oval on this system. Part of the alure of this model was that Acura stayed boxy with it's design. Aside from the big rice cannon's, I don't dig the shotgun's...feel the same way about the TL-S pipes.

A pure performance mission is a different story but it can be done with style.

About the tips I know is look kind of ugly but oh well....

about the performance after two days of driving this thing here is what i think.

Good
1.low tq is not as bad as i thought and is actuelly getting better(response)
2.I dont know how to explain but when you step on the gas you could feel the air go very smooth.
3.got more wheel spin if I floor it on a dead stop.
4**** I think everyone is too afriad the back pressure on N/A but guy dont need to worry about it as long as you have the underdrive pulley you wont feel too much low tq lose.
5. after this thing get in to the car from 2.5k ~ 4.5krpm is alot faster I havent go any high rev yet cause this thing is too damn loud so I will have to get the stock resonator back on this sat.

bad
1. MPG Im assume I will get only 17-19mpg for regular driving.
2.this thing is loud as F**K and the noise is kind of like a E46 M3 but 10 time louder and i seriously dont like the noise of that.
3.smell

about the smog....well....two more year to go so I have a lot time to play with

that half naked guy is customer he just crashed his new STi(the one in the back)

but yea I dont really care is mandrel bend or not cause both work the same and is under the car as long as is work +hp that all matter that why I post it at Perfromance part & mod thread not Photograph Gallery thread.

Are you planning to install some mufflers? I think you'd like it alot more, once you do. Anyway, your top-end should be nasty. And about the tips, if they were more of the size of the TL-S I'd like them alot more, but honestly don't think they are THAT bad.

hey kenua6 on the nice side, the m.b. and any other piping are not the same. Flow is different, which makes a difference. Also the welder can help or hurt airflow on how much skills he has...
Just because you change some exhaust piping does not mean you will always gain hp/tq, you may even loss hp/tq..
Its your car so im ok with it.
cool

mmcv6 yea m.b. or other piping dose make the different but how bend/turn do it have?? maybe is a good way to if the regular bend make less flow than I have more back pressure and about the welder I think he is good enough.

and yes exhaust system can - or + hp but I dont see why I loss hp yea on the low tq but mid range of the car gain and high end as well.....I only have a 2.5tubing so I dont see that much of low tq I loss if I have 3.5" or more probably.

but thanks for sharing what you know.

Can you tell me where I can get the defouler? I have a 2014 acura Tl Awd and I have a XLR8 j pipe removing third cat and my tuner told me this. Can you help?

So we got an o2 sensor de-fouler for your car (02 sensor extension that tricks the computer into thinking everything is good) but it was not "low profile" enough to be installed where it should have been. The frame and engine mount were to close to the sensor. Basically I cleared the code, but that's the best I could do right now. I cannot disable the p0430 code because it is a catalytic converter efficiency code. Which means your catalytic converter is probably bad (from running those mods without a tune)... Your car WILL NOT be effected by this code in any way if it comes back on. But if you choose to replace the converter it's about an $800 job total.

He told me not to remove the jpipe.
