New Clutch Needed Any Suggestions?!?!
Just got my first TL (04 6mt), and decided to join the community. anyways my clutch is slipping and want to put a new performance clutch in. I was curious if anybody here had any suggestions and/or websites on some manufacturers that have worked best for you. I'm not very car savy so any help would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

Unfortunately there is no solid performance clutch kit out for the 3G TL. Seems like almost everyone who has experience with any of the performance clutch kits has reported some sort of negative feedback.
If you plan to do the labor one time, stick with OEM or quality OEM replacement. Many people have had to take drop the trans a second time with performance kits. Even though I can do the labor myself, I'm probably going to go with an Exedy OEM replacement or similar.
Use the search function and you will find quite a few good threads. It's been discussed many times.

From experience... go with oem and save yourself the time, headaches, and LOTS of money

so basically, if i put a performance clutch in, chances are I'm going to destroy my tranny and end up having to put another couple g's into that......... I guess I wasn't aware that this was a common problem. Has anyone had any successful stories with a new clutch???!?

Check with illstrategy. He's got a SPEC stage 2 I think with stock FW. He saids so far so good with over 5k.
I think I will go with OEM. I have over 101k on mine, and it still performances well. It is starting to slip ever now and again though, but can't bet the longevity.

if your not forced inducted, stock clutch or something oem equivalent is more than efficient enough for NA power. yes, i did have my issues with CM a couple of times, BUT they did finally get my clutch kit right this time. pedal is exactly how i want it, firm, but not where im going to be blowing out master cylinders. there was a stretch where they were buying the PP diaphrams from different vendors, which in turn gave us inconsistant reliability. my original stage 3 kit (minus flywheel) that i tore up at the track for 10k, is still going strong in my friends accord with an additional 15k on it. the only reason i got rid of that kit, is because i opted for the LWFW :/ the PP they gave me with that kit, is the same one i have in my car now, so i know its going to last this time around.
so, the PP isues are resolved, along with the troublesome ring gear problem.
in regards to SPEC, i would not advise anybody to buy a kit from them. i had a close up look at the kit i bought originally, before i turned to CM. its comical how they can buy a oem PP, paint it a pretty blue color, stamp their gay logo on it and call it a high performance clutch kit
my friends SPEC kit grenaded in his tranny without warning, badly scarring his expensive comptech FW and ruining the disc and throwout bearing.
