Need help with some knowledge….
Bought an 08 type s, when purchased it had already installed an xlr8 PE, Injen Tuned Intake. No CEL no codes everything ran fine. Motor went bad, so did trans, replaced both. Now it throws rich codes, my shop that did the replacements said that one issue it says is the cats are too small, they said that I most likely had a tune on the original ECM, and that I should look into getting this fixed as they do not do live tuning. I have now purchased a Ktuner to try to resolve this issue, but I do not know where to go from here, as I can find the Evap and EGR monitors, but cannot turn them off so I can pass emissions. This is my main goal to start, I need to get it to pass. Then I can look to perf tunes but for right now just lokkkng to get it running without throwing codes so I can pass emissions. In Chicago Illinois. Honestly ANY information on starting this out would be helpful. Thanks.
share all of the codes that are being thrown. "cats are too small" isn't much to go on. these are XLR8 high flow cats?
A shop installed an engine and trans for you and gave it back with codes...? from where I'm sitting, they have not completed the job. the stock ECU shouldn't require a tune to run a stock replacement engine without throwing codes. the exception would be something like a P0420 due to worn or non-emissions compliant cats installed. share the codes for more help.

My '05 Pilot has thrown the b1 + b2 'rich' codes, it used to do it nearly every time I disconnected the battery to work on the car, especially if the car idled a lot (ie. bleeding the coolant or checking for leaks)
However, after I replaced the alternator & repaired/replaced the battery cables and terminals, and it has yet to come back. Mind you I've driven the car a fair amount of miles since then, but not sure if the low voltage issues could cause it.
