Need advice on pre-cat install

So i just installed the front precat not the rear precat and my car is RASPY AS ALL HELL!! Maybe cause it is like 30 degrees or i didnt warm up the car long enough but i don't know. so my questions for everyone is:

1. is it okay if i just install the front precat for now without the rear precat? reason i ask: cause inspection time is due in january for me and don't wanna put my factory cats and do this all over again to pass inspection.

2. Is i normal to have a rasp, much like the civics do after i hit like 3000rpms and up? the rasp dies down after the car warms up but is there anything i did wrong that it is making this crazy rasp sound!!????

RV6 precat delete V2(front only), Rv6 j-pipe V2, richies race pipe, 3inch custom straight pipe into dual mufflers with 2.5in inlet, 3inch outlet.

You need a resonator. The PCD will produce mega-rasp without a resonator.

Don't think Richie offers a resonator.
Richie's test pipe will do nothing for the rasp.
You will need a "healthy" size resonator.
For mine, I have the oem resonator in the oem location.

I don't know which brands/models are good. Hopefully others will chime-in with suggstions. I have seen many members using the MagnaFlow resonators (various sizes are available).

Check this thread. They discuss about the various resonators.

Too bad Aero resonators have been discontinued. I have the Aero 25, and my rasp/drone is at a bare minimum. I think others are running Magnaflow or other popular named resonators that will be fine.

Regarding the OP's original question............I guess I do not have any real knowledge of any problems caused by running cat delete on just the front bank of cylinders, but I have to believe that it cannot be good to have 1 bank of cylinders flowing freely and the other bank restricted by the cat. just seems to be unbalanced with regards to flow and temperature. Anyone else have ideas on this? just doesnt sound like a good situation

I see no real harm.

Sure, the front bank and rear bank are producing different power levels (unbalanced). But, I see no harm in that for a short period of time. All engine will have some slight imbalance from cylinder-to-cylinder and bank-to-bank.
