295whp only because you don't have a 4" cai.

Thanks man. You should have came out! It was a good time. Didn't get to see too many high HP cars on the dyno but there were a lot of sweet cars in the car show.

Some guy also got hammered and did a burn out and took out four cars in the process including his own and a TL!

4'' cai and I bet you'll gain a ton of mid range and 5whp top end.

We saw the aftermath of him sitting on the ground drunk as can be and walking off with the cop unsure of what was going on lol. Unfortunately we were at Wendy's eating across the street when this actually took place.

"Hey Chad, too bad you didn't come out man...some maniac got hammered and hit a bunch of cars!"

LMAO...
Sorry I missed this thread thus far. Impressive, Justin...over 300 without messing with tuning. Although I'm not Type S, I am 6MT so you've got my attention.

I don't even know if the dyno day was Saturday or Sunday. Lol

I had house work to do on Saturday and played 27 holes yesterday... :/

I agree, I didn't think he'd reach 300 without being tuned.

Now image putting in some stage 2/3 cams Justin...

It was Sunday. No cams for me. I'm looking more towards a low boost application. The planning process will be long though. Weighing all possible options. Ultimately the car needs to uphold its reliability.

I was going to say, why not just sit tight. You hit your goal and haven't altered babying/reliability at all.

That was the plan until this weekend when I saw a bunch of cars that made my car look like a little girl. Having a real tuning solution in the FlashPro has opened the door for many many more options than have previously been available to us. I plan on taking advantage of this.

Admittedly I moved things along way way too fast but now I can just sit back and think of what I want to do next.

Lol this is a good point but the difference between him and myself is that his car is not his daily driver like mine is. Reliability is and always will be my biggest concern above everything else. Power/innovation is at the top of Andy's list

I won't be doing this install myself. Hell I barely trust a trusted mechanic. Clutch installs are finicky.

You read bad stuff about the Spec stage 1 & 2 clutches which use rebranded OEM style components.

Don't pay attention to Chad, his modding optimism and drive is cyclical. He's almost in winter mode right now, where he turns his attention to house duty.

I have a graph somewhere of my stock 6spd from that very same dynapack. If I recall, I barely beat out my buddies 93/94 NSX at something high like 242.

Fairly cleans lines though... good job.

I would like to add:

If you lose the RV6 jpipe and pcd and switch them to say, XLR8 or ATLP, would you gain more into the 310whp?

Maybe with a tune and an intake you could be reaching near 320whp.

That's 300 hub horsepower though, not wheel. You're going to need more mods to break 300 on a Dynojet, but you're probably not too far off.

No, it's wheel horsepower. Unsprung wheel weight is taken into account on a Dynapack.

Dynapack's do read a bit higher than a Dynojet from what I recall, but they are still good numbers. If I were you, I'd go back to the same dyno when you get tuned so you can see the gains.

It's not a relative comparison. Because one dyno reads higher than another, does that mean it's less accurate? I'll just quote Doug from Hondata....

Additionally, Gerzand whom is local to me and used this same dyno before also dynod on a traditional roller dyno and pulled the same numbers with the same exact mods.

This is a moot discussion.

Maybe you misunderstood me...all I was saying is that despite the Dynapack reading high numbers, you should go back to the same dyno once you're tuned. I never questioned the integrity of the dyno itself.

Justin is very sensitive about his number being correct at over 300. Justin, I called Doug and he says there was a glitch in that machine and your real reading was 299. Sorry bruh,

Yeah guess I was a little abrasive in my response. Just used to the immediate denial along with a million reasons why it's wrong. I'll go back to the same dyno and may even have them dyno tune it once I've got Flashpro.

My only concern is the climate. In the winter it gets down to 0 degrees and in the summer it gets up to 90 degrees. One universal tune isn't going to work so I wonder if without the weather being colder they will be able to give me a tune for both summer and winter.

Thank you

I have no clue. Nothing spectacular at the moment for three reasons.

1) I'm on 255/40-17 Nitto Motivo tires so traction is killing me even with my slipping clutch.

2) I'm not tuned yet so I'm dealing with rev hang and other issues.

3) The clutch has seen better days. I've got a spec stage 3+ that will be installed in a couple of weeks along with my 105k service and valve adjustment.

I just picked up my car on Wednesday from the shop after having a new Spec Stage 3+ and 14lb aluminum lightweight flywheel installed, the complete 105k service, new axles, and new excelerate 75 durometer motor mounts installed. I absolutely love how the car drives now, and I'm still in the break in phase for the motor mounts and the clutch. Everything just feels so much more solid and sporty. It's freaking awesome. It just feels like I'm putting down the power/torque so much more than I was before.

I'm prepared to get flamed for this, but my rasp from my PCDs has all but disappeared. Actually, the entire sound of my exhaust has changed. It almost sounds like a Subaru boxer engine in low RPMs now. I have no clue if this is because of the motor mounts/flywheel, but I'm definitely not complaining. The exhaust just sounds that much meaner. I will get a comparison clip of me doing a launch with my car to now so you guys can hear the difference for yourselves.

Last but not least, my HDS tool came in and I've been playing with it the past couple days. For those of you that have the 3.7 throttle body, you know how annoying the bucking/bouncy idle and exaggerated rev hang is. To someone riding with you, it sounds like you're not taking your foot off the throttle completely when shifting. With the HDS tool, I've completely eliminated this. The 3.7L throttle body is now calibrated perfectly to my car. I forgot how much better it was to drive a car without idle issues. Everything just sounds tighter, and feels tighter. In combination with my lightweight flywheel, when I depress the clutch, the RPMs immediately drop to 750 RPMs where they are supposed to be. No more 1200-->750 dropping.

Along with adjusting the throttle body, I was also able to do my CKP (crank position sensor) relearn which is a necessary step described in the service manual when doing the timing belt change. I was also able to eliminate my airbag lights.

Feels like I just got a brand new car!

My clutch is toast and I'm looking at what options we have. I see that's the correct P/N from spec, even though the description says 03-06 TL. Amazon right? Why did you go with a stage 3+ clutch? It's not overkill? How is the pedal feel compared to stock, and how much more vibrations do you feel from the 75 mounts?

Did you by any chance weigh the stock flywheel?

Yes, I purchased it from Amazon. It ends up being much cheaper than ordering directly from Spec. I went with the stage 3+ to future proof myself, not overkill at all. I had also already drove another TL-s with this exact same set up and I liked it a lot, enough to buy it for my own. The reason I went with 3+ instead of just 3 is because it's a solid disc and therefore more streetable.

Pedal feel is way different, although I am still in the break-in period. My clutch engages all at once as soon as the pedal is released from the floor. There is no play at all, it engages as soon as it starts moving.

I weighed the whole mechanism and it weighed 45lbs.

The 75 durometer mounts are also in a break-in period. Right now, they vibrate like a mofo. That's to be expected. They don't vibrate normal regular driving, just when you take off from a stop.
