Mid Muffler Delete Exhaust Sound

Hey guys,

I just deleted my midmuffler (ONLY) on my 07 TL-S 6M. I have an XLR8 jpipe and cat delete. I posting to tell you all how happy I am with the sound change! The sound is extremely quiet when you want it to be, but when you get on it it sounds F**ing awesome! I didn't want rasp and there is none. Extremely tasteful sound change. If anyone was thinking about it but not sure if it is a good idea, do it! You will be happy. Had to share my opinion.

Doug

I had considered this as well, at least until my CTE catback gets here. I am running stock precats with no 3rd cat due to the Jpipe from RV6. I wonder if I would be equally pleased...

I have a similar setup, RV 3v J-pipe and mid muffler delete, I agree it sounds great! Not too loud and not too quiet!

I agree 100%. I thought I was going to be disappointed or regret my decision but that totally wasn't the case. Only one guy local enough to do it and the as**h** charged me $100 but I'm not even mad anymore lol.

I'm considering this set up too. Already have a mid muffler delete, planning V3 jpipe. At what points does it get loud?

Maybe to those looking for constant exhaust sound. It's quiet when you want it to be and sounds awesome when you get on it. For those of you looking for a constant, noticeable change this obviously won't be enough for you. Those looking to hear a little something when the step on the gas, this is for you!

Hey man. I'm in the city until Monday and my car is in NJ. When I get out of here I'll fill you in on the details for sure so you can compare.

Did this today and love it! With this and the stock intake resonator removed (DIY CAI) the car sounds very aggressive at WOT but civilized at idle. 2 very cool mods with a total of $50 invested. Thank you ACURAZINE!

I am so glad that you posted this you just have no clue. I had been looking at my car (08 Base w/ tech) and i love the look of the stock exhaust. So I was asking myself what could I do to gain hp while also give my stock exhaust more balls as far as depth of sound goes. I had always planned on the j-pipe but was cautious on HFC and stumped with how i could keep stock look of the exhaust while adding some throatier sound w/o the risk of droan.

Thank you very much for sharing!!!

OP, you might have to upload a video to complete this . Some people can't just make this on words alone. If you do so, camera mics sucks up close.

At idle you won't hear much of anything new. At start up you'll hear a more aggressive tone but very little additional volume. Under a load with moderate to heave acceleration you will pick up very noticeable changes. Reminds me a lot of a 350z or G35 from inside the car. I haven't heard it from outside yet. Not too loud at all. Just more aggressive.
