What is it about these TL's that makes turbo charging so hard? Is the ECU that complicated that it gets in the way?

Yes. Drive by wire also screws us.

Considering that I've read countless times on here that those who have tried end up seeing the ECU revert back to its original self.

Seems the only way is to lose some rather needed features.

Makes me wish still that our cars were sold in Japan.

I wonder what is different between the Honda's DBW and Nissan's DBW system? Guys have be turbocharging DBW Maximas, Altimas, Zs, Ms, and Gs since 2003. So basically the ECU senses excessive air flow and ends up cutting back power via the DBW system?

well as far as the dbw, it shouldn't be an issue and neither should the ecu. Anything can be made to do anything... and i just had a damn crazy idea that i know will work. o yes!

true, Viper. however, I bought this car because the wife said pick the nicest car we can afford with 4 doors (kids). The G35 was faster but the TL was much sexier in 4 doors, performed well in road tests and I really liked the simplicity in its trim/options choices.

I like that I still feel pampered above my paygrade when I sit in it and now I get equally excited pressing the gas pedal. But, I'm one of those guys that will put a CAI and pulley on my Honda Pilot if they make it.

I can't afford to blow my engine making this a reality but would gladly donate to the R&D and can promise a sale when it's proven reliable. Keep it up!

here's my thing. y would u go with the conventional "fast car". That's the most boring thing i think u could do. If you take something that has supreme style comfort and is pretty fast... and then make it stupid fast! that's awesome and now you have something everyone will appreciate. I'm all about not following the norm. I've had so many ppl talk bad about me mod my car and all i say is it's my money and i'll do what i please.

you're very right about the pampered thing... The TL has luxury features that the wrx/evo/skyline/z06 even my G35 don't have. Like the voice commands. My g35 does have a little bit faster navi and drives "better", but still, the TL is the best, best, best car for the money.

Def a better decision with the TL than the G, imho

Absolutely. I've always liked cars with sharp lines - not swoopy - but the G35 coupe is/was a gorgeous design. Plus it was RWD (swore I'd never buy FWD again!) and had a hotter engine. The Sedan was just too soft and elderly for my taste. Never really looked into what the G offered inside so it's good to hear you give the nod to the TL.

To this day people can't believe the amount of car I got for the price I paid.

So..... What about ignition? When you boost a NA motor, you greatly increase cylinder pressure. Increased cylinder pressure requires a greater spark to ignite the AF mix, what can be done about that? There are forged internals for our engines which will easily cost about $5000 if you do it right with head studs and all the CORRECT way of doing things. Also was This turbo researched? Did you find engine CFM and get a map on that turbo to see if the turbo will even run right with our cars? Not every turbo can go on any engine. Also why not standalone EMS? I don't have the $$ to just blow my car up or I would have many more answers for you guys

LOL. So far 100% reliability at double factory hp.

Forged internals are no where near $5,000. The crank is forged already. Rods are $650, pistons are $650. Complete ARP hardware kit for the bottom end and head studs are $250 but the stock headgaskets and bolts have never failed under boost.
