looking to get a CAI
so i'm looking to get a CAI for my 08 tl type-s (NBP for those wondering =) )
i've read a few threads and found injen and AEM to be popular ones, but i saw that there were problems with both, injen rubs against the fog lights and AEM seems to snap at the vibration point thing? (im a total noob)
from what i hear the AEM v2 sounds mean and has some good gains in hp so i'm leaning toward that.
if anyone has any input to the subject and some links to where you bought yours that would be appreciated.

actually the injen is looking a lot better to me because people are saying it gives a lot more low end power than the AEM
but i'm still worried about the fog light rubbing issue, any comments? fixes? anyone install it without it rubbing?

They're all the same thing. Besides minor design differences that won't make any noticeable gains, they're a filter and a pipe.
Options:
AEM V1, Injen, Fujita, are the more popular ones.

really they dont make noticeable gains? i thought people were claiming gains of around 5hp or so.
good to hear the aem's issue isnt an issue at all. where did you buy your intake from? and how much did it cost you?

No I mean between different kinds of intakes, I personally don't think there's any difference in gains. Shoud be about 5whpish with one though

o, thanks for clearing that up
the AEM is really lookin good to me now, the only reason i was iffy on it was cuz of that breaking issue but if it only happened to a small percentage of people then it should be fine.
now where are people finding these for 190-200? i read that in a different thread but all i can find is 240-ish anyone have any ideas?

Are you guy speaking from experience or what?! IMHO, CAI contribute to gains in relation to other mods. As I wrote in my AEM V2 upgrade from the V1, did feel a significant gains. There is no way I could have tell with no gains. When I install the P2R spacer, no difference. CAI, pulley, exhaust, etc, changed the characteristics of my car.
Also I have the dyno to prove that after installing CAI, pulley, and spacers at the same time resulted in atleast 10hp/11tq. They were my first mods from base line dyno. I'm sure the CAI contribute to most of that if not half.
So you guys that keep says CAI don't make any gains need to cut it out!
