I dont have one, but from reading and SEARCHING I've concluded that its all in your head. The sound will impress you and you'll think you've gained a few horses.
Everyone who has one says that they really like it.

And its really really really really really really easy to install.

If you're slightly mechanically inclined it should be straight forward.

Take old intake out. put new intake in.
some said to drop the front bumper to make it a bit easier.

IMO, my Fujita F5 makes my TL-S MUCH stronger, especially in the upper rpm band. It is very quiet until I push the "loud pedal" firmly.

Excelerate (vendor) has hp increases run via dyno on his website.

My butt dyno agrees with his findings

I agree^ but gains are marginal at best. You'll most likely get a drop in MPG due to the cool sounds at WOT.

the sound at WOT of a V2 is enough to turn the head of most people and say "WTF?" but anyone who knows anything will immediately recognize that it is nothing more than an aftermarket intake.

Power gain is proven but not big enough of a gain that you will feel anything...at least I never felt it. I only really noticed when I stacked up on the pavement against my co-worker who also has a slushbox TL - I'm sorry I mean 5 A/T - but his is bone stock.

The sound is incredible, though. I personally think it fits the aggressive profile of the car very well.

You will love it! I just installed mine last Friday. You can do the install yourself...just remove the front bumper and it will be a breeze. The sound is amazing. The V2 is very stealthy, as it will only make noise when you punch it. I have noticed a little hiss between 2100 - 3000 rpm range, but its not bad. I concur with everyones remarks as far as the increase is power, it may be mental. I have to admit though and I don't want to contradict my last statement, but at times...it does feel more responsive. Usually when I am running the A/C the car noticably dogs, but since installing the V2, I feel that the power loss was less. Does that make any sense? Sorry for the confusion, install it and love it!

I think my engine will like the V2 better when I get a j-pipe. Even with a modified stock exhaust it not open enough to get rid of all the extra air.

The hardest part of the install for me was the coolant lines and trying to figure out how to make the intake not touch my headlight.

I track my mileage closely, and I noticed 1-2 mpg increase, and I believe it attributable to higher efficiency.

If I want to sound good, probably 5% of the time....the mpg goes to hell

taking the bumper off is the easiest thing to do. You'll save alot of time and headache doing this install with the bumper off. Here's a link to the vid on how to take off the bumper. Watch it and you'll see how easy it is.

Make sure your buddy removes the resonator and all the plumbing in there.

I would suggest that you not, but if you do:

Make sure you keep all the stock parts, and remember where you put them, as you will need to reinstall in order for the dealer to take your car back.
OR,
If you're lucky, they will just ding you to reinstall.

I mean, they can't/won't be able to resell to the average person off the street, and that is what's important to them

Last, but not least, some lease agreements specifically state that modifications are not permitted. But I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to bend the rules a little

Just had my V2 installed last week on my 07 TL Type S. I had a friend and retired master mechanic put it on for me. He did say it was a bit of a challenge. After he showed me how breaking tight the V2 sits in there I'm very happy I decided against doing it myself. We had to modify the battery lock and cover.

Now it looks like it was meant to be in that engine bay aznd I will tell you that at WOT you're pretty much guaranteed to have an ear to ear smile as it sounds freaking AMAZING! I mean THAT GROWL came from THIS car!? On the TL-S I do absolutely notice a gain in the manual mode AT in lower gears.

Now....my next question is ...for a reasonable amount of money...WHAT MOD NEXT??!

C'mon,
You've been here since 2007, and don't know the answer to this question?

It's called a "search", and there are numerous threads going on as we speak in the performance/modification section on these topics.

Lots of good information on whatever you might mod with next.

The aftermarket j-pipe replaces your stock j-pipe.
As S PAW stated a simple search would yield GREAT results as there are several threads going on as we speak!

I don't have a cold air intake, so I couldn't tell you personally.
Butt, I like messing/tinkering with my car and I can tell you that there are MANY ways to do one task.
Go ahead and tackle your project anyway YOU see is better/more efficient.
If you feel that turning the wheel to one side is a better option, then try it out.
if it turns out to be a pain in the ass, you'll know for next time on how to tackle the same project.

C'mon now ....easy does it! I'm only a little bit of a noob and I would LOVE to do a quick forum search for what you nation...and I will...but; I'm currently working in an Operating Room and have very limited time to use my new HTC Incredible phone to sift through forums on a 3.5" screen.

I do appreciate your help....thanks. I WILL check that stuff out. The big question is to find out if the mods hold when people are talking bout the TL and not the TL-S.

I want to get one but I just cant justify spending $300 for one.

In my opinion its just a pipe with a filter.

I know what you are saying. For some reason they are asking way too much for our cars.
