just another quad exhaust thread

Current setup will be.

3rd cat delete, full mandrel bending, 22" Resonator, and 2 sebring mufflers, with staggered 3.5" Magnaflow tips. The tips will look like the following. What do you guys think??

Picking up the car in the next hour...wish me luck!!

I'll post some new pics. The car is going back in the shop for a bigger resonator. The 22inch isnt cutting it! I have a lot of drone. I don't know how some of you are doing it with no resonators or anything smaller than a 22 inch!

Rear bumper is an 04-06 stock bumper, mated to a 07 A-spec rear lip kit.

I would like to record some good quality clips...can anyone recommend some ways to accomplish that? I've heard about using some foam to put in front of the microphone, but I'm not sure if that's right.

I'm loving this man. You stated you had an 04-06 bumper with an a-spec rear..how did this work? It looks like a tl-s A-Spec. Did you do some cutting on the 04-06 bumper to get that A-Spec Kit to work? Can't wait to see more pictures. Its looking tight sofar.

I just used my digital camera (Canon Powershot S3 IS), which can record pretty good sound and 640 X 320 video, without any special arrangements, to record sound clips for my exhaust. I then uploaded to YouTube, which unfortunately degrades the video quality somewhat but leaves the sound intact.

Some clips of my modded RL as an example of what you can achieve with no special effects:
Interior sound
Exterior sound

Yes, you have to do some cutting around the exhaust cutout on your 04-06 rear bumper, because obviously the 07's are larger. You also don't have the black mesh grill the 07's have unless you do some extensive modifications. I didn't care for that back mesh, so I just left it as is. The fitment of this isn't perfect, so a bit of elbow grease and help is helpful.

I've tried using my canon G6 to record previous clips of my resonator removal, though they captured most of the sound, it wasn't as true as I wanted it to be. I'll give me camcorder a try though.

This is my dilemma too.....I know that in order for quad tips to look good, the openings on the 04-06 are way too small.

Acura discontinuing the Anthracite color makes it even more difficult because I can't just replace the lower lip without going through the hassles of painting.

So I am battling between cutting the existing openings or just going with a larger round tip or re-using the existing tips....

That came out VERY nice.

Not to ask the specific price, but based on the materials and craftsmanship, this must have cost more than a Comptech catback.

Heh, trust me my quad-exhaust goal has turned into a journey. If you followed some of my threads from a while back, it's been a long time since I started actively pursuing the perfect quads for the TL. From first fitting tip replacements to the stock mufflers, to fitting the quad exhaust to the stock bumper, and then finally to fitting the bumper with the lip kit. Let's just say it was long journey!

It really depends on what you want? If quads are just something you have to have, then I say just do it the way that looks the best.

i think ima gonna go the factory exhaust route....i went and looked at the 07 tl-s exhaust....alot wider than i thought....so im gonna "steal" your 07 rear under spoiler idea, and mate it to the 07 tl-s OEM Cat back....price for me is gonna run up around 900 bucks...plus taxes....so its gonna be a while before i see that setup on my car....but its a good thing you put up this post....cause i never thought about using the 07 rear lip....
