Jpipe install help!!

Hey guys, Im getting jpipe in a few days, a couple of questions if it mounts right up could I use ramp's to take off jpipe. I heard the bolts can be stubborn so I plan to use wd40 before starting on the nuts. Does it come with new bolts and nuts or do you reuse the old ones?

OK question 2 running CT SC setup with Comptech exhuast only thing is my CT exhuast is not cat back it was cut right after cat, so I'm running stock cat/ cats Im sorta confused really never but to much thought into it but is there a big plus to getting rid of a resonator or getting high flow cat? If so whats the best option can a resonator be removed while Im putting new Jpipe? or do I really need cat replaced?

I also have the sun voltage setup with UR lightweight pulley TB spacer with custom CAI on SC setup, And 50 shot NX etc.

the nuts and bolts are cheap at any honda/acura dealer, if i were you i would replace them

if your car has seen salt (ie. what nyc drops on the ground), get yourself a torche for those seized bolts

I think you may be confused, correct me if im wrong. But you do have a catback exhaust, if it attaches post cat. If you are running stock cats, then you would definetely benifit from replacing the cats.

You have the option of changing out all three of the cats to fully reach the potential of your forced fed ride. Since you have Nitrous and SC you should get the precat deletes, as well as upgrading the third cat with either a high flow cat or a test pipe. Personally I would go with the test pipe, but get the Megan one that is resonated to reduce unwanted rasp.

Also with your CT exhaust you can delete the center resonator, but I am not sure this will yield much gains and will make your car louder. But if thats what you are going for then try it out.. The worst that could happen is have the shop weld it back up..

Anywho I as well as everyone else reading this would love to see some pics of your juiced up supercharged beast..

Like stillhere says, new nuts and/or bolts. Nuts for the J-Pipe (9 of 'em) are slef-locking and Service Manual calls for replacement. At $0.45 each you can splurg and buy a whole packet of 10.

You can do it on ramps (or with jack stands). Extra pair of hands is helpful. If you don't have air tools, at least get a 15 "T-Handle/Breaker Bar" to improve your leverage on stubborn nuts.

Hey guys, I will have to get photobucket or something to post pics. Ill get my wife to show me tonight she's a myspace junkie she will know how.

I thought the CT exhuast was catback replacing the stock one, I guess they had cut the resonator off becuase it's basically the 2 mufflers. I bought it on ebay but paid $400 so im okay with that.

Thanks for the help with jpipe install probably will be best if have it installed, can the nuts and bolts be overtightened when putting the new jpipe on?

Spec is 25 ft/lbs at the cat and 40 ft/lbs at the exhaust ports.

Hanger bracket to the subframe is 16 ft/lbs.

I'm gonna speculate and say no. The more you tighten the bolts, the more you compress the gasket. I'm not sure which brand J pipe you have but the R-V6 gaskets are very high quality so... the tighter the seal, the less chance of an exhaust leak. Plus, the R-V6 J pipe comes with locking washers too. You should be fine.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

ATLP Jpipe

Its a ATLP Jpipe Yeah those specs will be great if I buy I touque wrench. But basically tight snug just dont kill it right? I also heard between the race pipe test pipe and cat delete's that really only one is needed?

I was concered about fumes I want to keep my cabin ozone clean. So maybe just the hi flow cat also would be best as far as one extra upgrade for free flowing exhuast?

Also are when the hi flow cats are installed does the jpipe have to come off again or they bolt up seperate.

And atlast is there a chance the nuts are reuseable the ones that come off when taking jpipe off, tommorow its arriving and the Acura dealer is about a 50 minute drive. Anyways I guess Ill find out tommorow if they come of in one piece than Ill try if not do you think Napa or autozone would carry its a standard nut right?

Do yourself a favor and get a can of "PB Blaster" available at any parts store or Wallmart. Works much better than WD-40. Go for a quick drive to get the exhaust heated up and spray them down with the "PB Blaster". The bolts should come out with no issues.

As others have recommended, I'd buy some new bolts too. If you have a Honda dealer that's closer they stock them as well. Part # 90212-SA5-0003

I love my ATLP J-Pipe!!!

Oh if you can't wait, I believe the nuts are M10x 1.25 pitch 14mm. Also, you might want to use some anti-seize on the threads to help prevent corrosion, etc... Good luck!

AutoZone, Advance/Kragen/Schuks and O'Reilly auto parts stores have free loaners. You have to make a deposit, but you get the deposit back when you return the tool.

If you have one nearby, take advantage of their Loaner Tool program.

Race pipe + mid muffler delete?

I got the jpipe hooked up a lift was needed in my application. Do you think the race pipe should be doable on jacks hope so. Also with my sc setup and exhuast etc mods would the mid muffler delete or replaced with stainless pipe have any plus gain wise or just sound wise?
